I took two pictures of the damage from my dad's accident. You would guess that he had just hit a deer and perhaps backed into something at low speed, but he was rear ended at 30MPH by a small to midsize car then shoved into the diamond plate bumper of a heavy duty pickup. He was perfectly fine, and I am no longer afraid of riding in the rear facing seats in the back of this car, but I will still get carsick.

Yes, he still has his Kerry/Edwards sticker on there. It is more him being lazy and not seeing a point to remove it than a political statement.

This is a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera, and was the last year for this model. It came out in 1982, and remained virtually unchanged for fifteen model years. You don't really know it, but there are tons and tons of these things on the road. This one has 152,405 miles on it, and has had no major problems with anything. It has eight seat belts, but it becomes a squeeze in the front row when someone sits between the driver and passenger. As you can see, it is a tough car as well.

Football has many variants. The Yank's football is a watered-down variant of rugby played with a regular rugby ball.

Canadian football is the same with different rules and a longer field.

Both variants consist of piles of low-IQ meat chasing a ball around.

Football in the rest of the world is what we call soccer over here in benighted north america.

Recently signed up for an online game, and spent a good 72 hours for the support staff working on why their site wouldn't accept payment from my card. After that 72 huors, I was sent an order to Make up a card start date. It turns out, that since I had taken advantage of the option I have no start date on my card, which is included on the payment form, the transaction failed repeatadly.

Logical.

Since I work at a TV station, I could not escape the super-bowl at all no matter how hard i tried.  I really know more about sports than I let on, and I enjoy immensely going to see a game Live, but somehow on tv it seems so insignificant to me.

I know I'm not supposed to talk politics here, but I've been a little busy with our upcoming town elections and disgusted with the choice of crooks we are getting.

I've also been tearing out walls in the downstairs bathroom in order to renovate it.  Disgusting job.

Brushes plaster dust from clothes.

That's the downfall of a 100 year old house...it has alot of character, but always something needs to be fixed.  I wish it would just regenerate, like in the game.

I can't really give real money to Simtropolis because I am one of the indigent poor. Its either have the internet or give my tiny stipend to other things. I'd rather stay here.

You know, if your town elections are on and you don't like the candidates, you could run yourself. All it takes is loot and an organization.

Renovating old houses can be a horrendous job. Think about people who renovate heritage homes. They are not allowed to change anything, but have to get it up to current building codes.

On Sunday, I went to see Lewis Black at the Pantages Theater in downtown Minneapolis. He was great, and very angry as always, but the drive there and back were not that great. The drive there was heavy rain; the kind where you can't see the reflection of the road lines through the water. On the way back it was heavy snow; the kind where you can't turn the brights on and can't really go any faster than 40MPH. It was dark when I went to bed and I was well used to the brown color of everything in the past few days, and when I woke up this morning the world had been enwhitened. It was really havy snow that stuck to bare tree branches, and absolutely everything was white. We got about 4 of it, and the roads weren't that bad, but I think a bunch of it melted today (got home after dark).

No, John, I'm about 100 lbs over starving!  It's just that neither my wife or I are very fancy cooks.  and, well, in a grand sort of way, I am a student of life, but no, I last was officially a student in '92 when I got my Masters.  Now I'm 46 and work fulltime, sometimes more.  I'm not buying a yacht anytime soon, but I'm not starving

I wrote a Tutorial on how to make any picture into a map.  I din't know if people will find it interesting or confusing, but I only ever play anymore on maps I've made myself.  It's fun.

@Fairlane500- I once had to dodge a Model T to avoid being hit by it at a car show. It still would have probably missed me, but it has a lot more pokey things on the front than a Chevette (even if you were joking about that). Actually, I like Chevettes, and I don't know why. I see one parked at my college parking lot often; it is brown of course. I sometiems also see other rare cars, like a mid 90's Mazda 929 (very nice car), a mid 70's Honda Prelude, numerous Jeep Comanches, and of course my Toronado.
