Hi Everyone!

I am a 37 year old married Canadian man (originally from Ottawa, Ontario) but now living in Stockholm, Sweden. Hodges....I remember and loved the C64 Pirates game!!! It was so cool. The closest thing to it that is out now is Cutthroats! but it still isn't Pirates.

I just moved to Sweden last year so I am currently a teacher here.

Hey everyone! I'm 31, a legal assistant and full-time student (except for this semester and that's because I knew SimCity 4 was coming out and I attend weekend courses, something had to give!). I am from NYC and I now live in Texas. I love SimCity, I own every Sim game ever made by Maxis. Actually I love all videogames, Sim City 4 is just in the #1 spot right now, followed by GTA3, Madden 2003, Britney's Dance Beat (do not laugh, this game is hard as heck :))and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit on PSII. My SO and daughter share my passion for games so a great weekend for us is when we have very little errands and we can spend the whole weekend playing games and watching G4TV. When I am not killing my eyesight playing games, I am trying to collect and read the entire works of Issac Asimov and Robert Heinlein. I have to say I'm impressed with this site and glad I found it by accident9.gif. Hi to everyone and good gaming!1.gif

hello.

I am 18 years old and I live in Hayward California. I am a business major that commutes to school every day on BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). I like punk and emo rock music and have a band called Driving To Milpitas. I also like to play RPG MUDs, mostly one called Accursed Lands, go running, and currently I am learning Judo which I find very fun. Oh, and I spend more time playing SC4 than doing my homework.

I haven't tried that one out yet but it looks cool from the screenshots. I found the Cutthroats! was very close to Pirates.

As for cold Finland...we are neighbours so what you suffer through, so do I! 23.gif

Hi! I'm 25 years old and I'm from The Hague (Netherlands). That's also where that stupid stork in my avatar comes from: it's from the city arms of The Hague.

Right now I'm a tax consultant at the world's largest accountancy firm (which has nothing to do with SC at all), but I used to be an architecture and urban design student at Delft University for about 4 years. And that's where I found out that building cities in real life isn't as great as it is in SimCity. (I never got my grade at university 14.gif)

I still believe I've played every game Maxis ever made/published for PC, right from SimCity in back '89 and SimEarth in '91, which still has the best manual of 'em all!

(Of course I'm sure someone can name at least one or two Maxis-games I've never played though...)

    Hello all!
I'm 17 years old and from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Currently in High School, hoping to take Computer Engineering in University.
I almost always download games I want, but I ALWAYS buy Maxis and Blizzard games. That should say a lot about the quality of the product they produce.

I'm Dave. I live in Cinnaminson, NJ (near Philadelphia). I love SimCity. (I don't like the Sims series though.) And you've probably noticed that I love Hens. (Don't ask. It's a long story.) I'm so obsessed with them, I'm writing a book about them. I also love to bowl. I have a 175 average with only a 242 high game. I have 4 pet birds: 3 parakeets and 1 parrotlet. Their names are Jibby (Jiblet), Budgie, and Shane (parakeets), and Sam (parrotlet). I call him "Green" cause he's a green bird. I also like to read. My favorite author is Michael Crichton. I have read Airframe, The Tenth Warrior, The Andromeda Strain, PREY!!, and I'm currently reading Disclosure. I am a huge I Love Lucy fan. My favorite episode is the Vitameatavegamin one. And well, that's about it.2.gif

    Hey Everyone!

I'm a 23 year old female, from South Carolina. I'm in my second year of graduate school working on a Ph.D in orgainic chemistry. I'm engaged to a guy who is working on a Ph.D in Computer Science, so of course he is a computer junkie 2.gif So he loves that I enjoy computer games, that way I don't bug him about his game playing. This is my first simcity game, and I just love it!

Howdy there. My name is Dax. (Yes, I know, wierd name. It comes from a book called The Adventures and Dax is the main character in it) I'm a 23 (24 in march) year-old male that lives in North Carolina. Currently I do AutoCAD work as well as test games for Octagon Entertainment to tell them if I think they are good or not before they come out. Both of my jobs are all right, but not exactly what I would like to be doing.

I've played too many games to count, and normally buy at least 4 new games a month. The one I've played the most, surprisingly, is one with no graphics at all. It's called a MUD and I've seen at least one other person say they play on these. It stands for Multi-User Dimension and it's a text-based RPG. I've logged over 14,000 hours on just this game in the past 6 years. (If you do the math, it's basically been a part time job for me) I ran one of these for a few years, during which, I learned how to type extremely well, code in C and learned about how to manage as well as listen to people. It's a great experience, and I would strongly suggest it to any hard-core gamers. (Be wary though, this is a COMPLEX game. Not for beginners that are not interested in spending a long of time on one game. It will take you at least a week to get the hang of things, and I'm still learning 6 years later.)

In general, I like hanging out and being myself. I eventually want to end up designing games. I've got tons of ideas for them since I've played countless titles and I think if I get a chance, I could make a pretty sick game. At any rate, that's me!

Hey all. I'm 32, living in Thessaloniki, Greece.
I'm a Transportation Engineer (Civil Engineer with specialisation in Transportation) but work as in IT Consultant (M.Sc.).
I've been around computers since 1982 when I took my first course into BASIC, just to prove to my father that I didn't want him to buy me a computer (a Spectrum ZX), solely for playing games 2.gif
I still spend as much time as I can playing strategy games, like I did when in High School. The only difference is that I can't spend as much time as I want to, nowadays.
My computer/owner history started with a Spectrum ZX (yes, I got it eventually), moved to a Commodore 64, an ATARI 520ST (my first UPGRADE to 1024KB memory- cost=

Hello to everyone. I decided to join this forum after reading this thread. After browsing other forums, this one seemed to be the friendliest, and most mature.

As for me I'm 26 and live in the wonderful state of North Dakota, I am an electrical engineer, and business owner. My company builds special purpose machines for manufacturing various products (Computer Aided Machining). I've been a Sim City fan since the first one, and look forward to being a part of this community.

    Hello...

I am a dude for California, that actually uses words like "dude", like, a lot. I am a Chemical Engineer in the pharmaceutical industry here in sunny San Jose, CA. I am 28 y.o.a., happily married now for 2 years. I am an animal lover, and generally play SIM with my dog Buddy close at hand.

I really liked the earlier SIM CITY games, and am having fun with this one, especially the regional play. I hated the SIMs, and have never played another SIM production, apart from the earlier CITY's. I enjoy RTS video games, and RPG paper and pen games. I am anticipating the release of MoO3, so once it comes out I may not be here all to often, but I tend to frequent a lot of Message Boards, usually using Japher as my alias. Why Japher? I use to use Gaffer (electrician on a film set), but this became to common or something... My real name is Jon so I just went with Jaffer, but that was still to obvious for my taste, so a swung it to it's current state.

Anyway, this looks like a nice little community for now. I hope it grows and becomes more diverse of the years, and I look forward to getting to know you all...

Wow, can't believe this is the first time I have seen this thread. I guess it is because after the General Discussion section I can never get past the City-Building Concepts without adding my lame opinions to them.2.gif

I live in Chicago, born and raised. I am 34, married and have a 5yr old daughter and 3.5yr old son (They are the beat of my heart) I play SC4. When I am not playing that I am usually playing Magic online, Neverwinter Nights, WarCraft3 or Dungeon Seige. I do some how find about 10hrs a day to go to this electro-plating company that I am the plant manager of. I really only do that to give my PC a rest during the day22.gif

This is bar-none the best web site for SC4 out there. Probably the best message boards for a game I have seen yet. Hope you guys can stay on top!!! I am sure you will!

    MD-

(actually Richard is my real name. MDamion is the name I use for all my online login's. It is from my son, Marcus Damion)
