Hmmmm...

i cant find my Name in here... wondering why ;-)

Well, wile im here...so....

My Names are Oliver, Dirk, Heinrich (dont ask my, why i do have 3 Front Names, thats a long long Story) and i´m.... Tadaaaa... German :-)

I´m born 1964, married, 3 Kids, 6 Birds and thousends of Worms (realy). We live 200 KM in the North of Munich= Bayern= the South of Germany. Cold in the Winter, hot in the Summer. Highness it al 550 Meter over See Level Zero. Pepps are crazy, but u earn good Money, much more like in the Rest of Germany.

I do hate Ego Shooter and all others, thats includet Killing other Persons. So i do love Simulations and there partikular (right spelling?) SimCity. Im Playing Sims since 1989 on an C64 (still running) and after i switched to Amiga500/1200 till the 1st 386er.

My English was much better Yeeeeears ago. My 1st Girlfriend was English and didnt spoke one Word of German. So i was needed to talk with her in English.Ask my English Theatcher what he was thinking about us ;-) I was the best in our Class.

But over the Years, i forgot the most... thats normal, if you dont us a Language every Day. Since im a little more active on Board, my Spelling goes better and better, thanks for it my Friends :-)  I remember Words, that i forgot over Years.

What else? I do love Bonsais. I have some around. I´ll make some Pictures about my Chilly Bonsais. They are 10 Years and older.

What else? Much more, but sure not today ;-)

So... thats moi... that crazy Oliver thing from the .... hmmm... good old Germany is dead. So what should i say? From the Germany you knows out of your History Books.

Why im here?

1,... i was only looking for Downloads.

2,.... i was reading the Forum abot thinks, that are interisting to me.

3,... I searched for Tutorials

and at least, i searched for Infos about the NAM.

If you do habe a Question, feel free to shoot away, thats why we are all here for.

And now... im here where i stand. Helpfull, friendly and stubborne ;-) yeah... thats moi ^^

*Handshake* Oliver

(but get be warned, sometimes im in a realy bad mode and type thinks. that are out of Control. Please forget it and read it one Day later. Thats me and i cant stop it. So i warn you in here ;-)

Thanks for reading this BS and thanks for your Attantion.

We see us at the next Thread, Oliver... the Subborn German ;-)

how to install NAM the whole process again

Maybe these two video guides might help:

Both of these were originally written for NAM 37 released midway through last year, but the same process still applies with NAM 39 as the current release. It's very important to install the 4 GB Patch as well, and you may find this script useful attached to the post Tarkus replied with.

I believe I never introduced myself here. I'm an American who occasionally plays city-building games, among a whole list of other games.
When I'm not gaming I'm probably either doing something related to games or something creative, such as art, music, programming, or some form of modding/mapping.
I don't really know what else to say since I'm really not good at introducing myself without a prompt hahaha

Welcome aboard! Share your cities, ask your questions, submit ideas, and have some fun! *:thumb:

Hello, All. I am not a newcomer to Simtrpolis but I haven't been active for a number of years.

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Gary Vanderbur (I go by Vandy), a 70 year old retired male living in Clayton, North Carolina. USA. I've been married for almost 47 years to the most wonderful woman in the world.

I have been playing SimCity 4 since December, 2004. I should mentioned that I rarely played the simulator, rather I was a avid map maker and posted under my mapping service, "Map This! - Cartography Services." (My maps are still on the STEX.)

I plan on installing the simulator again and see if I can get wougaine's SC4 Terraformer working on my Windows 10 laptop. If I can, I plan on making maps again.

Good to make your acquaintance! You seem to have accumulated a lot of awards and deserve another for being married for 47 years! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Hi folks!

I actually have been a member of Simtropolis off and on since 2009 on another account, but was never very active on my previous account outside of asking the occasional question or commenting on lots and maps over the years. My old account was associated with my real-life identity, so I wanted to create a new one to remain anonymous.

Anyway, I have played SimCity 4 since around 2006 and, apart from a few extended breaks from the game, have continuously come back to it because no city-building sim I've tried can come close to this game. I have also been playing around with Lot Editor for the first time and am interested in learning to BAT as a winter project. I am looking forward to being more active in this community and hope to utilize its wealth of knowledge to help me learn the new skill of BATing.

In closing, I wanted to share a few images of the modular alley lots I created today! These are something I wanted on Simtropolis for a long time before I realized that I could very easily make it on my own in Lot Editor. A quick tutorial or two later and I'm very happy with the result! I may upload them to the STEX in the future once I play around with them for a while.

Hi everyone!! Wow there is this whole social world for us city building lovers?? This is so awesome! I am glad that I have finally expanded beyond just playing the game. During the time of Covid, I've been able to finally dedicate time to SC4. I have been playing SC since the mid 90's, and had no idea that this whole city gamer world exists, and I am so happy I have found it. It looks very welcoming here. Thank you for having me join. Also, to the Admin team, great job! I will be contributing a donation and am excited about the DVD's! *:8)

Hi @MileHiGhost and welcome to Simtropolis. *:)

Glad you could join us, and your first impressions remind me of when I initially discovered the SC4 community. I was also in amazement at how it all existed, and at a time when to begin with I only stumbled upon ST from a mention in a file comment on the old EA lot exchange.

You'll discover how by being part of this community as you now are, for how here and SC4Devotion will extend your mayoral pursuit of excellence to new heights. Ask around the forums whenever unsure, and we're all here to help. While SC4 is an older game now, it still appeals to those of us who can appreciate and marvel at the artistic and creative palette of possibilities it provides. A freedom of creativity is presented, which allows us each to play the way we enjoy and find most of all fun.

We hope you enjoy it here. (And in fact, we know you will too!)

I´m here since 6 or 7 Years right now and i feel realy welcome to the Community. If i´m going to match ST with other Boards.... there are Worlds between.

Hey all. So, I don't know how new one has to be for this, but, figured I'd at least show everyone I exist.

I've had an account since like, February of 2019 (so long ago?), and I've just kinda lurked around on here.

I've known about the site for like a decade now, and have grabbed some mods here over time. But, I'm thinking of becoming more active on here soon, due to stuff I'm working on, so this place may help a ton as a result.

Unfortunately, I'm kinda introverted or so. So, I may end up just kinda dropping off at times. Plus, every time I've been on a forum, it's essentially died shortly after due to who knows what. While I've got some forum experience, it's still in the early~ish stages for me.

That said, I do love the site and community so far, from what I've seen, and I rather hope it does well for years to come.

Hey everyone. I've been a long-time lurker here. I've probably been here over 10 years on and off, mostly just to drop in and download mattb325 BATs. *:D But I recently got back into SC4 and have been rebuilding my lost download folder. There are so many great guides and resources here now, and I've been reading dozens of old threads learning things I never knew about the game. The community here seems great as well. A nice change of pace from the typical snark elsewhere on the internet.

I'm thinking of starting a YouTube series building some cities. There is way too little video content on SC4, and I like seeing cities getting built. So I guess you'll see me around. Thanks for having me here!

Hi @deezedgod and welcome back to Simtropolis. *:)

We're glad you've decided to de-lurkify while resuming your mayoral obligations. It is a special community we've got here indeed, and the great thing is how it's revolved around creativity instead of destructibility. That's the prime reason I believe that city-building attracts a more imaginative mindset than certain other games might.

When you get around to posting YouTube videos, you're most welcome to start a new topic to showcase them inside also.

We hope you enjoy it here too.

Hello all!  I decided to get back into SC4 yesterday, and was so happy to find that not only are so many people are still playing this amazing game, but that they have created fixes for all of the problems/bugs I used to encounter, as well as amazing custom content!  There's so many fixes to install and things to learn about them that I haven't even started up a new city yet!

One thing I haven't had any luck with finding a fix yet for is a way to increase the size of the UI when playing in 1920x1080.  My janky old graphics card isn't capable of running in 1600x900, and running the game in 1280x720 makes the UI so big that it covers other items, such as the buttons at the top of the region screen.  If anyone has any insight on this, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thank you to everyone here who has provided help, information, fixes, and other custom content!  I look forward to contributing as well once I get up to speed!

Thank you so much for the link, @Cyclone Boom!  I did read over it, and I think I may have already done what you suggest there.  I wasn't actually able to get the game to launch until I entered some advanced launch options for the game into Origin (thank goodness I have the cd key digital version).  Here's what I'm currently using:

-f -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32 -intro:off -CPUCount:1

I've tried tweaking that with different resolutions and windowed mode, but the game won't launch in 1600x900 even in windowed mode, so I seem to be stuck with either 1920x1080 with the too small UI (windowed or not), or 1280x720 in fullscreen where the UI ends up being too big, or 1280x720 in windowed mode where the whole game appears too small.

Please let me know if you think there is something I've missed/didn't understand from your post link.  Thank you so much for your help!

There's some other interesting SC4 videos on YouTube via search, but definitely room for some more content creators.  Do let us know when you post a video.  *
