Hi folks!

I actually have been a member of Simtropolis off and on since 2009 on another account, but was never very active on my previous account outside of asking the occasional question or commenting on lots and maps over the years. My old account was associated with my real-life identity, so I wanted to create a new one to remain anonymous.

Anyway, I have played SimCity 4 since around 2006 and, apart from a few extended breaks from the game, have continuously come back to it because no city-building sim I've tried can come close to this game. I have also been playing around with Lot Editor for the first time and am interested in learning to BAT as a winter project. I am looking forward to being more active in this community and hope to utilize its wealth of knowledge to help me learn the new skill of BATing.

In closing, I wanted to share a few images of the modular alley lots I created today! These are something I wanted on Simtropolis for a long time before I realized that I could very easily make it on my own in Lot Editor. A quick tutorial or two later and I'm very happy with the result! I may upload them to the STEX in the future once I play around with them for a while.

Hi @Zephyrus22 and welcome back to Simtropolis on your grand return to mayorship. *:8)

SC4 is certainly amazing how it continues to sustain the active interest of the community after all these years. Part of this is due to the custom content which adds so much variety to the base simulation (which lays a very solid foundation in its own right). City building allows our imagination and creativity to flourish in boundless ways.

The alleyway lots you've created are excellent, and how you've got aspirations with the BAT tool sounds super smashing great!

Hi my name is Erik Esteie and I live in an area that's lying on the borders of the river Zaan and is called the Zaanstreek, it's close to Amsterdam

My interest runs from (reading about)history, the city of Istanbul, cats, (reading and watching) Sci-Fi and Fairs.

The biggest hobby is taking photographs and I (try) to post a picture on a daily basis on my website

Hello everyone,

First of, Best wishes for 2021,I know it will be tough but we have each other and Simcity4 of course.

I"m still learning the ropes here  and need to ask a few questions, so I am a little uncertain how to get the answers I need

and a bit unsure of what to do.

So thanks in advance for any advice.

Cheers All

Hiya, @Mr Plum.

Was it you with the candlestick in the library? *:P

A couple of good places to start are:

Pinned topics in a forum generally have a lot of compiled tidbits of useful info. Ofc, you can also create a new topic or reply to an existing one with your questions. Even if said question has been asked and answered before, the members and staff here often know where those are and can point you to them.

And, welcome to Simtropolis. *:)

Hi @TotoroKeroppi and welcome to Simtropolis. *:)

From your description it reminds me of when to my amazement I first discovered the community. You've summed it up well too, because now realising there's such potential, it'll lead to a new journey of awesomeness. This will help heighten SC4 along a completely new and diverse journey of discovery for you.

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking around on Simtropolis as a silent reader for about 9 years now. Finally, time has come to introduce myself ^.^

After staying at home most of the time in 2020 (because of obvious reasons) I had a bit more time to play my favourite game ever: SimCity 4! Discovering the game mechanics, the timeless design and an endless amount of mods and buildings never gets boring. The community on Simtropolis has always been a big help when searching for answers (and, of course, finding them *) on several issues or getting inspirations for my regions via galleries and city journals.

Well, in early 2020 I have finally found a map file which I really liked and which I have since been playing on (previous maps always became boring and I abandoned them after a few weeks).  I am planning on starting a city journal in the near future which is the main reason for introducing myself here ^.^* I simply did not want to be the guy coming outta nowhere and start a city journal :D

That is it for now. If you have any questions feel free to aks away!

Greetings from Germany :bunny:

I was an anonymous user of this site, only for download props and files for SimCity 3000 but the time to participate has come.

I am Platov. I am from a small hamlet in Murcia, Spain. I am historian and now I am studying to become a high school teacher. If you have any questions regarding to Ancient History, specially Rome, feel free to ask me below.

I love city builders. My entry into the genre was Caesar II by Impressions (and to Ancient Rome History, of course). My favourite entry in the SimCity saga is 3000 Unlimited because I have great times playing this during high school (I continue to play it thanks to GOG.com). I don't know if Tropico enters in this genre (for many people, is considered a dictator simulator) but is another city builder that I like it.

So, hello to everyone! And sorry for my bad english. It's a bit rusty.
