Since no one's made their shot, my guess is St. Helier, in the Island of Jersey! (one of the UK crown dependencies north of France)

Looking at the terrain, I know that mix of the irregular city blocks with emerald green from the vegetation was definitely somewhere in the British Isles or nearby areas, the turquoise seas made me think that this was on the warmer sides (southern and western shores). I considered Wales, Ireland, Cornwall, Dover and much of England's southern coastline, but then realized that, on medium and larger countries, you wouldn't really have a tiny cargo + fuels seaport in a city this small, so it had to be on a much smaller landmass.

    Proof of my guess:

And for whoever goes next, this city sits at a nice and sheltered bay, full of rich history and tourism!

It's Fort-de-France, on the French island of Martinique in the Caribbean: https://maps.app.goo.gl/3W99cUPrkZC8DATK6

A very nice city, with the Lumina Tower overlooking its harbor: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oKa2U89s2h6EGKxv5

That's Vasco da Gama, the biggest city in the state of Goa, India, and a Portuguese colonial possession until 1961.

The shape of that peninsula is really characteristic!

Now, where this other city might be, with such stark contrasts in colours?

That would be Neuquén, at the boundary between the Neuquén and Río Negro provinces in Argentina!

This one was also tricky, it's a city located along a river floodplain in a semiarid environment, had to go through many of the world's major desert / semiarid floodplain areas, but something always felt off--those farms have a distinct New World look, it didn't look right finding it in the big Old World floodplains (Yellow River in China, Indus in Pakistan, Tigris-Euphrates in Iraq and Syria, Nile in Egypt and Sudan, Niger in the Sahel).

    Proof of the correct guess:

At first sight it looks like southwest Asia, with those lush forested hills, dense building complexes and multiple canals, but I'm not exactly sure of where to pinpoint it. It's also a very close image, considering that singular buildings can be distinguished, and that big lot that seems to be an airport in construction.

But no, I'm not managing to identify it, so I'll let someone else give it a try.

You're totally right - that's Sanya, Hainan Island, China! I had the same thinking proccess as you, it was really reminding me the style of cities like Hong Kong and Macao, but less crowded. Tried looking for it on South Korea and Taiwan. Went a bit south and found it on the island of Hainan.

:???:     This one was really difficult!!     :???:

The city is Dar es Salaam, Tanzania! When I first saw the image, these details are what stood up to me:

    • City is definitely tropical, based off how the coastal waters look. Climate isn't quite moist, as there's areas of dry grass in the terrain and because water inside that estuary looks pretty clear, not muddy as it's typical in tropical rivers with larger discharges.
    • Due to the angle of the coastline here, it wasn't obvious to me that it's an east coast, looked more like a northeast or north coast
    • The city is in a rapidly growing developing country, there's a lot of construction of transportation and industrial facilities, while having relatively disorganized small-scale buildings built informally by the locals. At this point, I was wondering if this could be in eastern China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil, Sri Lanka, or even Turkey
    • There's a small colonial historic city center next to the coast, so it also made me consider the Caribbean, so I checked in Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Trinidad & Tobago.
    • Started to get frustrated once none of these options got me the desired result, so I decided to go to the East African coastlines, until I found it.

    Proof of the correct guess:

    https://www.google.com.pr/maps/@-6.8254374,39.2914289,7732m/data=!3m1!1e3!5m1!1e1?hl=en&authuser=0&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDMwNC4wIKXMDSoJLDEwMjExNDUzSAFQAw%3D%3D

    Now for my next entry...

This city looks like it doesn't belong in the region it sits at, having some amazing landscapes around it that you'd expect in a different climate!

@kergelen That place you're showing isn't quite a city just yet, but the Egyptian government very much intends to make it such. We're talking about Sharm El-Sheikh, located at the southern end of the Sinai peninsula and facing the Straits of Tiran, the entrance of the Gulf of Aqaba.

    Proof of correct guess:

    https://www.google.com.pr/maps/@27.9708286,34.4104023,13364m/data=!3m1!1e3!5m1!1e1?hl=en&authuser=0&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDMyNS4xIKXMDSoJLDEwMjExNDUzSAFQAw%3D%3D

This city was a difficult guess because it isn't really a properly developed city, but I had a feeling that it was on one of these fast-growing Middle Eastern and North African locales facing some important waterway.

As a vengeance, I wonder who could figure out this place!      :8)

This city is surprisingly large and thriving in its region, boasting, of all things, a monorail (still under construction)!

That's Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Not much to say how I got there, the white roof reminds me of Mexico, and when I saw all the big/medium cities and couldnt find there, started to look for it in nearby regions, Central America, Puerto Rico, until I got to Republica Dominicana. Couldn't be Santo Domingo since it has a coast, so I looked on the "countryside" and found it there.

It's Windhoek, Namibia. Had to go through Cappadoce, Turkey, then a bit of the surroundings (Kazakhstan, so on), but Turkey has paved roads everywhere, and soviet-style states have an obvious grid plan. Had to be Africa... or South America. I've found similar feels in Bolivia, but never this much sandy land as seen at the airport below. But I've searched somehow... Peru, Argentina, no. It's Africa! I've went more to North East Africa, was looking for a more mountainous region... nope. In despair, I've image searched the lake in top left, which brought me to an unlocated image, but with street names. Could find it with Eveline Street. Wow!

That's the still unnamed New Administrative Capital of Egypt, a gargantuan urbanistic project east of Cairo, and which didn't got called New Cairo because that name was already used for the place between it and the original city.

My turn then, and why not insist on the theme of planned desert cities?

That is El Salvador, which ironically is not in the tropical country of El Salvador, but in Chile, in the middle of the Atacama desert. I got lucky with this one, since I remember seeing it in a very interesting Instagram account, even considered posting it here.

Following the theme of planned desert cities I thought about the city of Delicias, Chihuahua, buut I've already posted that, so how about a not so succesful one?

I must admit, I had to use the clue. You wrote "State" so I searched a list of planned US cities for those named after their state. The first one to come up was Indianapolis. But then I found California City mentioned and that fitted with the desert. It still took a while to actually find it on the map. I guess I cheated , but then again with a population of less than 15k, California City isn't exactly a City/Metro either *;).

It really was a tough one, well done @Edvarz! As I did not properly solve this, I leave the next turn to anyone who might want it.

That would be the town of Two Harbors, along the Lake Superior shoreline of the US state of Minnesota!

Meanwhile, some of you might find this city suspiciously recognizable from my SC4 gameplay. For those not familiar with it, its most distinctive feature is the river that empties into the ocean, where the historic center was settled. The city also is infamous for its widespread industrial activity and its development lagging in comparison to peer cities in the region.

    Arecibo, Puerto Rico.

Not much too say lol. The white roof, the green and the water screams Central America, but it could be Mexico or Colombia too. The "recognizable from my SC4 gameplay"  really puts you into Puerto Rico, and since it wasn't San Juan because the capital is a much larger city, I just had to look for another coastal city in the north part of Puerto Rico.
