Is there a list of where poor, highly educated sims work? I'm getting a lot of no job zots on my poor, highly educated sims even though there's a lot of manufacturing and dirty industry. As you can see, there are more than half a million vacant jobs.

You have to start elevating the population into $$ and $$$ level industry and commercial, once they get smart enough. You also have to keep their education, health and happiness up also. The double-edged sword of raising the standard of living.

Is there a guide on who works where though?

It doesn't work like that. Sims get work where they are educated enough to get it. The uneducated work in DirtyI and Agriculture, better educated in IM, etc. The names of the business or industry mean nothing to them(and the game) and you can even change the names in the header bar on them. They are named, mostly, for you to identify the building and lot. If 2 C$$s are next to each other, Sims will go to the one closest to where they live.

The game is kind of misleading about that. The no jobs zot might mean that there aren't jobs available, but usually it means that there aren't jobs available within commuting distance. To improve that, you would either improve your transit to bring down commute times, or rearrange your zoning so that things are closer to each other.

However, if you don't have the NAM (the Network Addon Mod), you can have that problem a lot, even if your city is reasonably well-planned. The game's default traffic simulator and other settings are bad.

As far as where sims work, the game is a little misleading about that too. A CS$$$ doesn't actually have just CS$$$ jobs, it actually has jobs for all three wealths. The game is also misleading about the capacity of buildings. If it says that there are 1,204/1,800 jobs at a building, it doesn't mean that there is that number of sims currently employed there and that it has capacity for more sims to work there. I don't even remember exactly what that number means to be honest lol

Yeah that’s what I mean. Do CS $$$ have like 10% R$ jobs, 80% R$$ Jobs and 10% R$$$ jobs or what’s the ratio for each building/job type?

Also I have the NAM, it works well and before my ppl became ultra smart they worked a lot in the IM buildings but now apparently nobody works in them anymore.

It shows how many employees out of the total possible the building can currently employ with the conditions present in the area. *:)

In general it pretty much works this way. However! Values may differ for different developer types.

The best solution is to consult the Prima Guide on SC4 as it has exact chart with percentage values for each developer type and sim wealth group.

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.
