Hello

Currently in my 1.2 million pop region, every single one of my cities have the "this locale" problem from the police advisor. but what frustrates me is that even after putting a police station right next to the "locale" pointed out by the advisor, the problem does not go away. this problem always took place at one of the 4 corners of an airport, and sometimes even at the middle of the airport. sometimes it took place right next to the "Harvard University" as well. how to i make this problem go away?

the other problem i have right now, is that my game is rendering very slowly, especially when i switch between "above ground" and "underground" when building bus stops and metro stations. right now i need to wait almost a full minute for the game to switch between the two. and my cities in general are rendering a lot slower than before. is there anything i can do to mitigate this problem? or it comes naturally with the size of the region?

Thanks

Airports and universities tend to concentrate more crime than usually, especially if in close proximity.

Switching to underground mode, usually more with subways tends to drag a bit. Not unusual.

@Pepe The Great

Have you tried: 3rd Beta - Crime and Police Station Fixes for ModPacc Zero ?

I presume you are referring to Subway stations. (Bus Stops should not be showing any underground view.) As @SIM-ple Jack stated, that is indeed slow the larger the population and development in a city tile is. There is a mod I made for someone in which they asked for the view to not jump to underground view when placing subway stations. I'll beep @Cyclone Boom to find that as it's attached to some post somewhere.

    For the slow rendering when going underground:

    I did a bit of searching and found I've called it Subway Station - No Underground View.dat and the file is attached to my 2nd post in the Underground / Zones View when building subway stations topic. Peeking inside my .dat file, I see back then I used the Group Add to patch option in Reader's Navigator. That's poor modding on my part since only the building exemplar needs tweaked. Additionally, being the original Maxis subway station it has a mere 2000 passenger capacity and that'll be woefully inadequate for how peeps build larger cities.

    Let's start with a quick recap of what the original poster asked for in the linked topic:

    I have a question: is it possible to disable the change in dataview when you select a subway station?

    <snip>

    I want to build subway stations in normal view, because I dont need to see underground, I 99% of the times know already where everything is and i go at the precise tile to build what I need, and having to switch these views when in a 200,000 people worth of city takes quite some time, like If I had to stop at every traffic light in a busy city...

    ^ My bold added.

    What I did was modify one element in the OccupantGroups property. I changed 0x00001302 (subway) to 0x00001301 (bus stop) and this prevents the view from showing what's underground when selecting the Maxis subway station for plopping. Ofc, this means you won't see the subway tubes and you have to already know exactly where you want to plop it. This does not alter the view when selecting the subway tubes themselves so that does still go underground where you still see the subway view to connect the stations to the subway routes you lay out.

    Keep in mind my tweak only applies to the one single Maxis subway station and is presented as a proof of concept. If this change gives you want you want, it would need to be done for every station you use which has subway capacity.

    Here's a new version where it has 50,000 capacity and prevents the underground view from being toggled when selecting the subway station:

    Maxis Subway Station (50k Capacity) - No Underground View.dat

    My file will need to load after the one within NAM to take effect. You can tell it's working if the view does not change when selecting the station from the menu.
