It seems to me that the brown boxes are more in the commercial areas.

Your best chance is to go back to the dependencies' list of the mod, and reinstall all the required plugins. Instead of trying to pinpoint which tree is omitted, then you will ensure that all of them are available.

I assume you've downloaded it from the SC4D LEX? The LEX has a nice feature in that if you click on a download, it will tell you if you've ever downloaded it in the past. Go to the streetside mod page on the LEX (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=115), go down to dependencies, click on all of them, and see if any of them say You have never downloaded this near the top of the page. That way, you can easily see which dependencies you're missing.

Well I don't know of the mod you refer to, a link would be helpful, but straight away there is a problem.

Timed Props (like Seasonal Trees), must use RKT4 Exemplars, this is techy talk for saying a prop that can switch between different models or seasons. All of the Maxis trees are the standard RKT1 type, which don't allow for such switching. This is a problem, because changing the RKT type in this manner, has been demonstrated to cause Prop Pox. As such, this kind of modding is generally left well alone. What you must do (as a modder), is instead of override the trees or props, you must find a way to make it work with unique ones. Since it's not possible to do this, without altering every lot/item that uses the Maxis trees, it seems fairly likely you have the conditions for this issue to occur.

The good news is, if you are using the latest version of SC4Fix, it shouldn't cause any damage to your save files. So if you don't have that installed, I highly recommend you install it, although it's a mod every player should have because it also prevents the game CTDing when Puzzle Pieces/Network Items are hovered over TE lots.

Once we can peek inside the Seasonal Trees mod, we can look to see what might be causing the timing issues. But it seems like one of the properties is not quite right, meaning the sequence "ends" or isn't working as intended.

Really thanks for the infos, the mod i use is this, i don't have sc4fix so now i download it, when downloaded what i have to do with the tool precisely?

edit: is surely an override of mods because i have build new areas and new seasonal trees appeared over a bit of time in the gardens (but only in residential areas and less trees than before) so i maybe have downloaded another seasonal tree mod but i like the first mod not this last one, i must reactivate the last seasonal mod

OK, so it seems my initial fears were unwarranted:

    Quote

The mod contains more than 1100 relotted Maxis lots

So it doesn't directly override the Exemplars, instead it overrides the Lots. It might sound similar, but this is totally safe, the downside is that to see the seasonal trees, everything needs to be re-built or you need to start a new city. Still, SC4Fix is something everyone ought to have, so I'd recommend keeping it.

With that out of the way, we'll need to take a peek at the Exemplars and specifically the timing properties used, to see if there is some clue there. In theory such Props should be in a yearly cycle and repeat every year, but it's possible they hit some limit and stopped. They could also be Flora not Props, but let's check before we get into that.

Right now though, if I don't sleep, I won't be much good looking at Exemplars. But if I forget to come back to you in a day or two and you still need help, page me (just type the @ key, followed without a space by my username, RSC204) into a new post. That will ensure it get's my attention, of course someone else may also be able to assist in the meantime.

Just toss it in your plugins folder. It can go in the one in your Documents folder, but most peeps (myself included) like to put it in the plugins of the game's installation folder.

You can tell it's in effect when running the game and the title on the task bar changes like this:

At first glance, it certainly doesn't look like any Prop Conversions were made whatsoever, literally everything used in that regard comes from the original packs. CPs Seasonal Trees are pretty tried and tested, with many thousands of users, they are pretty much the #1 set of seasonal trees in use. Therefore it's highly unlikely there is any sort of problem with the Exemplars that handle this Prop Timing, i.e. switching the seasons.

So I only just noticed the part in bold, tracking back through the problem. It certainly does have dependencies, if you don't have CP's Vol.1 and Vol.2 installed, you won't be seeing many trees, which may well explain your problems. You'll need Girafe's Spruces too (dependencies listed on Download page). It's certainly possible something is overriding them too, altering their behaviour. But before looking into that, double-check the required files are indeed correctly installed.

However, if you didn't have these dependencies, the timing mechanism wouldn't exist, it's part of the Exemplars (Props) within those packs. So if that turns out to be the issue, it doesn't really explain whatever is briefly appearing.

It may also help to know how many game-years have elapsed in an affected city. Also open a new city you have not used before, do the trees come back if you grow some suitable buildings? We need to know if this is a local (just on city) or global (all cities, regardless) problem.
