The Real Highway network comes in two types, separable and combined. The separable highways have a yellow line on the side to tell you where the middle is. You draw each side separately. Combine highways have a double yellow line in the middle . Your images indicate that you are trying to connect a combined highway to one side of a separable one. That would not work. Have a look at the documentation:  https://www.sc4nam.com/docs/feature-guides/realhighway-mod/#realhighway-network-widths

I built a bridge and for some reason it also only has one part of this highway, how do I connect this puzzle to the bridge?

@DreamMachineMan, you need to play around more with the RealHighways and bridges if you want to connect them. In general, you can only connect a RHW bridge to the same type of network.  So if you have a RHW-10S bridge, you can only connect that to a RHW-10S network, at least initially.  To connect the bridge to the network, draw a RealHighway from the network to the bridge's extension and it should connect if you overlap the draw to the bridge's extensions.

I suggest watching this video and playing around with the RealHighway yourself:

    Here's another good basic tutorial:

Looks like you're dragging it onto the bridge, so that won't work.  Only drag to the last element of the Maxis highway stub, and make sure there's only one stub remaining as any more might make it not work.  Make sure that your 10S starter piece is well away from the bridge and you're only dragging the RealHighway over to the stub, and through the starter piece.

(note, I use the MaxisHighway Override so my stub looks different than yours, but I only have one stub and am only dragging the RHW through the starter piece to that stub piece.)

To make it very simple, here is a series of step-by-step images that show EXACTLY what I did.

    1. First I drew the highway with the Maxis Ground highway tool and selected the first 10S option that appears.  You'll notice I have a large stub of Maxis Highwy after the 10S bridge:

    6979834247f5a_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_13PM.jpg.f7bc398dcd1fcda16edd939551bc6c86.jpg

    2. I bulldoze all but the last stub of Maxis Highway:

    69798375e69c0_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_20PM.jpg.ec20c5e588cd0eb2c6ad55ded4e777d8.jpg

    3. Now you can see that there's only 1 stub of Maxis Highway left.  Notice how it's not going to the end of the square?  That means it was properly bulldozed and not erased with the Network Eraser.  You want it like that because to overlay the Maxis Highway properly, it can't be filling the entire square:

    697983d178773_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_26PM.jpg.7debfe87dc5d4243d5d47883cfb8ea1f.jpg

    4. Now I place the 10S starter piece a bit away from the bridge: 697983e1dafa1_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_44PM.jpg.63cadddad6faf091ebae56cb058ecd8c.jpg

    5. Then I drag the first half of the RealHighway through the starter piece to the Maxis stub piece:697983f8312ce_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_55PM.jpg.c1652e85c44c740cfb50c96a655b1817.jpg

    6. The first half is now connected properly to the bridge, and the Maxis stub that I drew over has now been adapted to look like the RealHighway:6979842551d76_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_12PM.jpg.f4de9252913778521eba73483d3c28bc.jpg

    7. Now I drag the other half of the RealHighway through the starter piece to the other Maxis Highway Stub: 697984514bcc0_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_18PM.jpg.54dcd8c2aa4e150410fa8b87735b003a.jpg

    8. And now it's complete.

    697984711113b_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_36PM.jpg.51b96d92e48e86e3a50d915d8f244608.jpg

Also, be sure you're connecting GROUND HIGHWAY to GROUND HIGHWAY, and ELEVATED HIGHWAY to ELEVATED HIGHWAY.  Try doing it with Ground highway only first.  I think in your picture you're connecting a Ground RHW 10S to an Elevated Highway.

    6979834247f5a_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_13PM.jpg.f7bc398dcd1fcda16edd939551bc6c86.jpg

    69798375e69c0_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_20PM.jpg.ec20c5e588cd0eb2c6ad55ded4e777d8.jpg

    697983d178773_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_26PM.jpg.7debfe87dc5d4243d5d47883cfb8ea1f.jpg

697983e1dafa1_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_44PM.jpg.63cadddad6faf091ebae56cb058ecd8c.jpg

Maxis:697983f8312ce_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_26_55PM.jpg.c1652e85c44c740cfb50c96a655b1817.jpg

RealHighway:6979842551d76_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_12PM.jpg.f4de9252913778521eba73483d3c28bc.jpg

Maxis Highway:697984514bcc0_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_18PM.jpg.54dcd8c2aa4e150410fa8b87735b003a.jpg

    697984711113b_GDriverWindow--DirectX1_27_202610_27_36PM.jpg.51b96d92e48e86e3a50d915d8f244608.jpg

Thanks for the step by step instructions))

    Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.
