Do Toll Booths really generate a lot of money ?  I was thinking of making a 1-way route to Tourist Trap section with some nice stuff inside, and then 1-way out with some Ranger Stations and huge patch of woods, but as you leading out, it's a complex maze with tons of 1-way streets and all sorts of Toll Booths on the way out.

But when going out, it will have cool stuff mixed in with landmarks and more tourist stuff.

Generally speaking, yes Sims happy use them if they need access to a route with Tolls. You then can make a lot of money, but sims will only use them if they want to use the routes they are on. If you are using NAM then there is a small increase in time added to stop and pay the toll, too many toll booths might make sims prefer an alternate route.

There was an Omnibus article I recall reading about generating income from toll booths.

It explains how it's possible to force traffic to take certain paths and therefore maximise the total income gained. Since with nowhere to go, the commuters must travel on the designated route as they're forced on. This mean toll booths can indeed be a sustainable source of income. Similarly when using other networks such as rail, subway, or even ferries, it's possible to design a city layout to help with optimising traffic flow, and resultantly improve commute times.

    That's funny, I never intended in using Toll booths, but then thought it would be an evil and funny thing to do, because it's a tourist trap after all.

    Good revenue from the eternal commuter bug if you so choose to benefit over address the issue. 

     

    I remember Nonny talking highly of the toll booths.

    Sweet, I have a Grand plan to build a region into a Mega Kingdom Megalopolis with 7 Mayors, but each mayor will really be a King of a whole region within this 1 Region and there will be 7 Kings, and 7 Kingdom Regions.

    One of the Kings will have soo much land, It's just something to fill in the gaps.
