Question Regarding PIM-X

So I want to create a gated road entrance for my suburbs similar to this:

But I'm not exactly sure how one would create something to be able to plop over a standard road (like you would a toll or train station). And I can't seem to find any tutorials on creating/editing lots to allow road entry either.

Is this really something that would be hard to do or is it easier than I'm making it out to be?

PIMX doesn't handle that sort of transit enabling.

I think you have a ton of options though, but they'll all have different levels of difficulty.

The easiest, I think, would be to use an overhanging prop, with a lot you would place on one side of the street, or both, depending on how you do it.

Or you could simply start from scratch and design a complete neighborhood, as a gated community.

I'm gonna defer to an actual lotter and batter on this one though. @mattb325 any suggestions?

The overhanging prop method sounds interesting, only can you actually place the prop outside of a 1x1 lot tile or does it have to just be a long enough prop itself?

Either way is possible, though it will depend on the props themselves. If you're making the models yourself, you can do whatever you like. Otherwise, you'll need to work with what's available in prop packs, unless a batter is willing to work on it for you.

I actually made one of these a long time ago for myself, but not with over-hanging props, but rather a TE lot.

It is perfectly functional, but I don't consider it a true LEX-worthy lot as forcing Sims leave for work via a TE lot causes long commute times and means you really need to give them another normal street as a way out of their gated community. To that end, overhanging gated fences and props would be the better alternative.

However, @JojiTX (or any one else for that matter), if this is something you really want, I have an MD on SC4Devotion that I occasionally post little secret-stash plugin give-aways to, so I can put it there if sufficient interest exists.

Yeah that is pretty much the kind of thing I'm looking to make (or download). I could see it still being useful as most of my gated neighborhoods will likely have two exits, kind of like the ones here in TX, with the second gate being smaller (to which I'd probably use an overhanging prop for better functionality).

    Thanks for the help guys!
