Hello Everyone,

I am having  a problem with Tree Models missing from the game. They are missing on several lots, to name a few, SNM PMQ, Buddybud Sunken Highway Walls. I have these  dependences installed in my Plugins in the BSC folder, CPT # 7 Tree Controller, # 8 & 9 Tree Models, in SFBT folder, SFBT Street Tree Mod, Seasonal Birch Trees,  in BSC props folder, Jeronij's Vol 2 Trees and Vol 3 Trees Seasonal plus both of the bldprop 1 & 2 , loosely installed in my Plugins folder.  The game is saying I am missing the Plug-In # 1139490945. I still haven't figured out how to use the Data-Node so finding it in there would take a long time. I was trying to get the RRW rails to show up (it is in the NAM 36 folder, in the rail folder, in my Plugins) but my Rail shows up the Maxis version with a PEG underlay. I might have mistakenly deleted a Plugin I need. Enclosed is 3 pics. I guess I just need to leave my Plugins alone and just play the game. It is probably something so simple I just can't figure it out. My Plugins are DAT Packed so I have to go back to a backed up Plugins Folder (non-DAT Packed) to try and figure out what I did wrong. It works ok most of the time, but now I am stumped.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can confirm converting that decimal for the missing Plugin Pack ID is 43EB4081 in hexadecimal. Reader will prefix this with a displayed 0x before it so it becomes 0x43EB4081 and corresponds with other IDs inside the exemplar of a saved city. The thing is when building a custom ploppable lot in the game, this gets stored inside the city file and then SC4 knows it's present. Bulldozing and saving then removes this Exemplar entry which would make the warning dialog go away.

As my post explains here, I suggest opening your affected city in Reader and to see if there's any clues as to what the offending content item might be. If there's a name of it or something in the menu description which is saved, that could help narrow it down.

There are valuable reference lists @catty-cb compiled which list list a number of plugins with their IDs. But understandably they aren't exhaustive to all content ever created (which would be an absolute mammoth task). This means it's quite likely the item you've got missing is one which will need identifying through a bit of guesswork.

Should there be other things missing which aren't apparent from a brown box (or Oops flags as you've got), a possible other idea is after making a complete backup of your city (Region folder), to then bulldoze portions before saving and reloading. Start with half the tile which would rule out 50% of that area. If the error no longer persists this would determine how the last bulldozed area contains the missing plugin. From there it'd be a case of going back and narrowing it down until finding the culprit.

Thanks Cyclone Boom for the quick reply. I tried Reader earlier this morning and couldn't get it to work. So if I delete the city completely it would cause this warning about a missing plugin go away?

Forgot something. I loaded the "Maxis Tree Replacement Mod", loaded the region, and all the missing Tree Models flags were gone except for "Palm Trees Models" were still missing and still getting the Plugin message. Removed  the tree replacement mod . and saved it to my desktop. Started the game again with out the Mod and still getting the Plugins message.

I am going to re-load the Mod and add SW77's "No Palms" MOD with the No$$$ Palms.dat selected, locate it loosely in my Plugin folder (by it's self and not in the SW77 folder). When I loaded the game with the "Tree Replacement Mod" installed the only Lot's with the Palms still showing up missing was SNM Military Seaport Lots. It was just showing up missing on a couple of lots.

I'm just making a best guess here, but did you try loading the saved city file while it was loaded in the game? If so, there will be a "Failed to open" dialog which pops up inside Reader due to it being locked down and in use. Should this be the case, it needs SC4 closing first prior to opening the saved file.

Yes, it would do because the reference to individual plopped plugins is stored within each city.

When that message is shown, it means the game sees something that used to exist as a custom built lot, but can no longer be found. It's possible that this individual message for the converted Plugin Pack ID 0x43EB4081 is a separate issue than those missing models, which do appear to be from trees (on sidewalks and lots) as set from a replacement mod as you've described. I believe the Plugin Pack ID message only refers to when a custom ploppable lot is built and saved within a city tile, then is later removed. Not all missing models will trigger this, and I think with the trees it may actually not be the cause here of the specific message.

After making a backup of your tile, something else you may wish to try is to use the Flora Off command inside the cheats box (Ctrl+X). Upon pressing Enter the box will close and all planted trees will be removed from your city. Then set Flora On which toggles the ability for planted flora to function in seasons. Finally save the tile, restart the game (to clear temporary memory), and reload to see the extent of what still appears missing, and also whether the Plugin Pack ID message persists.

    Thanks Cyclone Boom

No I wasn't running the game. I get this error message, "Failed to open c:\program file (x86)\SimCity 4 deluxe edition\English US\SimCityLocale.DAT.

It started working while I was typing the above reply. Just to check it out, I selected SimCity DAT and there isn't anything showing for the 1-5 SimCity DAT's.

Found the Plugins option and selected Plugins and it is showing files. Is there a How to use iLive Reader other wise form me right now it like walking around in the dark.

This means either the file isn't there, which is easy to verify, look in that location and check. Otherwise, it means Reader can not access the file, which is either because:

    • It's open in another application.
Simplest way to be sure, reboot Windows and try it before you open any other applications. If the error still appears, the most likely...
    • The permissions of your Windows logon don't allow Reader to open the file.
Usually solved by right clicking on the Shortcut and Selecting "Run as Administrator".

    SOLVED:

I believe I have solved my problem. I uninstalled ( saved my Plugins and region Folders to my desktop) the game and downloaded the new version from GOG ( with the hot-fix). Installed the game and re-loaded the Plugin and Regions folders, and darn it didn’t the game open with the same message. All the tree Model was showing (no Flags) except for Hallenbad Lot was missing the building. Deleted the lot closed down to Region and loaded the game again. No Message and all the Tree models showing.

Earlier I noticed that the ZZZ PEG Face Lift folder was missing. Reset the folder with the following files,

    1. MTP MML 1 Pine Tree and Clusters.
    2. MTP MM2 Scrub Brush.
    3. MTP MM 3 Forest Flora.
    4.  MTP MM 4 Old Pine Trees.
    5. MTP Tree Mod.
    6. Terrain Mod.

I believe I deleted this folder when I was setting LK Appalachian Mod because I thought the PEG Terrain Mod would conflict with the LK Mod. I also realized That the SFBT Street Tree Mod was set up wrong while I was setting up T.Wrecks Maxis Replacement MO so I redid the SFBT Mod and selected to install all the Tree Props. No I haven’t loaded the T.Wrecks Mod. But the game is up and running fine now.

Thanks to everyone who Help me because of this problem
