One Way, Single Track Station Assistance

Hey everyone

I'm hoping to build a passenger train station that operates on the vanilla one-way, single lane track. I'm familiar with the very basics of asset creation - I've modeled some simple buildings and imported them with commercial/residential templates. But I'm still basically a complete amateur, and I'm finding the functional aspects of stations (the track overlay, pathing, etc) a bit intimidating. I haven't managed to find any single-track passenger stations on the workshop to use as a template or starting point either.

Any guides or assistance in this regard would be tremendous! Or, if an asset like this exists and I'm just blind, I'd definitely appreciate being directed to it. Really all I need is a bare-bones concrete platform to sit alongside a single rail - I could clip a building/shelter into it easily enough in game. Or, if anyone would rather do it themselves than explain the process, I could send over a static model, and would be happy to have the functionality added as a commission. Not sure what the easiest way to go about any of it is.

Apologies if there are already well-explained solutions for this that I'm overlooking, or if I'm just missing something obvious, but any help would be really appreciated!

Well, this won't work as there are, I guess, no vanilla one-way station tracks ingame.

Station tracks have got pedestrian paths on their side to allow peds to go into the train and a stop to be created (The vanilla one-ways are just normal tracks without these pedestrian paths).

 

You need the following mods to create such stations:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=512314255 this will allow you to delete/create invisible pedestrian paths on a template. So you could use the default train station as a template and get rid of every network

 

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=789831361 this is a station using these tracks, made by @Tim The Terrible - probably he can give you some tips here if he's got online at some point.

 

Important: If you use one-way station tracks you need to set the one-way train tracks mod as a dependency in Steam (just like Tim did).

Thank you! That certainly clarifies why there haven't been many stations using one way tracks, haha. That gives me a better sense of how the pedestrians work in the stations, too. I'll give those mods a try and see what I can come up with.

I think you want to create something like this, right? You might be able to use it as a template. As @Delta2k5 said, you do need the One-Way Train Tracks mod to create and use a single-track station.

That asset has exactly the functionality I was looking for. I guess I overlooked that one. I'm still having trouble getting station tracks and pedestrian connections to work if I just use it as a template for my own work ... but honestly, that platform functions so seamlessly that I can probably just add the rest of my station as a sub-mesh or a separate building. Either way I should reach my goal now; thank you both! Really helps
