@RRetail as more and more Macy's are closing more and more a becoming it they are building the backstage stores. there are more of them locations in s Macy’s store but some are now  popping up as  standalone store now. Also you’ll know We missing a outlet mall right jk 😂

Macy's hasn't really announced a lot of closures lately, except for maybe a few one-offs here and there. I've never seen a Macy's Backstage in person or in picture via the internet that was all by itself. Like I said, the only ones I know of are all inside existing Macy's stores. It would seem ideal to expand the concept beyond Macy's stores, but I have yet to see evidence of this being done.

@thecitiescenter You seem to have read my mind about outlet mall anchors. Another chain, though it is closing a lot of stores, that fits at outlet malls is Forever 21. On my recent trip to eastern PA, I made it a point to stop at the Pocono's premium outlets and it has one.that was not on the closure list. Another candidate would be Lord & Taylor.

@RRetail Ah yes, I remember the days when Forever 21 was everywhere.  I’ve got a list of defunct stores I want to do (maybe all rolled into one plaza)... but I have quite a list ahead of that... so who knows,  by the time I get around to it, Forever 21 might actually qualify for that.

As for Lord & Taylor, we dont have those on the west coast, so I dont know much about them.  I’ve only been in one once, funny enough in PA as well at the King of Prussia mall.  I was only in there to use the facilities lol... and it was years ago, but I thought it was very similar to Macys in terms of merchandise, design and layout.

    Very nice!

I know the Hyatt is still a work in progress, but it may need to be scaled up a bit vertically.

Harbour Centre also looks promising. I've always thought buildings with revolving restaurants were interesting.

    @IDS2Thanks for the comment!

I purposefully set the height of this one to be shorter than your typical real world Hyatt Regency.  Reason being that this one is designed specifically for one of my cities and needed to fit into a pretty tight lot between an arterial and an Interstate highway (that's why there's the sound wall on the back side).  Also wanted to keep some consistency between this and the adjacent buildings... and the Sims, particularly, the City Council and Planning Department of this particular city are very much adverse to anything that blocks their views of their precious douglas fir trees, mountains, hills, river and whatever other natural wonders they want to see *:D

I do want to make a taller one, though, so that's on the list for next time.  That one will likely take on the Grand Hyatt brand.

It will be anchored by a Crate & Barrel:

When finished, the yet to be named center will have approx. 50 stores, including the ones already shown above and others such as American Girl, Athleta, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Prada, Sur La Table, Tesla, Tiffany & Co., Uni Qlo, Valentino, Zara.

Food/Drink/Restaurants will include: California Pizza Kitchen, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Fogo de Chao, Jamba Juice, Maggiano's, Philz Coffee, Pinkberry, Umami Burger + others.

    Basically, expensive stuff... *

Since there are Starbucks everywhere (including on the STEX)... I hadn't thought about including it and was targeting more local brands such as the SF Bay Area's Philz Coffee or maybe a Peets and LA's Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf...... but now that you've mentioned it you've given me a * moment... I think I'll do a Starbucks Reserve Roastery!

Crate&Barrel is turning out pretty well *:)!

I really like the wooden pergolas, they're a nice touch.

Are the windows and doors meant to be flush with the facade, as in this case?

    503fe75142dee0d13343c617fc0372f6_w450-1.

Or are they meant to be recessed from the facade line, even by a small amount, like there (please look at the brown rowhouse on the picture's left, the one with the orange windows)?

Thanks!  They're flush... but... I might recess them a bit or modify them to give them more visual depth.

Crate & Barrel will be joined by 60 stores/restaurants, which as of this morning, have all been textured and are awaiting rendering.

I have to say it's not a simple lot, At first glance this building seemed easy. but it has wonderful colour scheme and details, Just like some good paintings can give someone a feeling, This one gives me too. I never been to USA, But it makes me feel so American, Good job Steve,*:thumb:

I do have a Dollarama that I've not released but am not sure if I'll ever release it. Maybe one of those could go in that plaza?

@pclark06 I know this is probably a dead thread, but if you've already done it, PLEASE release it. No one has done a Dollarama yet and I remember my Dollarama in Toronto quite fondly & miss it. That, the Second Cup, and more Tim Hortons models (esp. a W2W one) are what really feel missing from the Canadian selection on here. (And a Swiss Chalet/Harvey's. And a Pizza Pizza. And Lick's Homeburgers. But those last 2 are Ontarian.)

I've wanted a Dollarama for literally a decade (since I lived in Canada). Please?

I still have it. I will get some pics and upload this weekend. It's not up to my current standards, but it's good enough, lol.

This thread is far from dead.  I'm here, alive... and well, thank you very much.  Just due to real life stuff, not able to pump out BATs as quick as I'd like to.

Anyways, while its not a standalone, I did include a Swiss Chalet in my Real Canadian Superstore file.

I also got the following Canadian retail establishments on my to-do list:

    Winners
    Chapters

Pizza Pizzas a good one, I''ll add that on, but if @pclark06 or anybody else beats me to it at this point, then great.  As I plan to do some Southern California related stuff before I get back to Canada.

Tim Hortons is a big deal around here locally, so there's a good chance I'll wind up making one myself at some point. :)

Next up: Retail plaza anchored by 99 Ranch Market.  Still have lots to do - including adding a 3rd wing.  Plaza also includes a Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot restaurant (2nd floor, 45' angle "Building 2"), which interestingly, is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands.
