@Tim The Terrible That top view is used for reflections in windows as far as I understand, but you can put clouds there which can make more sense
And I didn't make that example cube map myself, I downloaded it from the Internet

That bottom square (buildings reflection) is pretty essential. I have no idea what a "best version" should look like. Asset creators have to consider that particular image whenever we set the specularity to 100%, as that is the reflection that we get. Because we most often look at our cities from above, it doesn't make sense for sky to be there. Buildings is the right thing, but how should the buildings look? You're basically trying to fake the look of neighboring buildings. Variety would be good. I'm pretty sick of that vanilla reflection.

 

When you look at reflective skyscrapers from below, I think the game already replaces the reflection with other parts of the cubemap (sky and clouds).
