Good Day.I thought I would at last delve into making assets for Cities Skylines having fiddled about with Blender for some time.. I already have one asset on Steam Pitfitcie castle Aberdeenshire

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=912548313

My next up-load will be a series of Art Deco housing.  This is the first one very nearly completed:- (four others in various stages of build)

I am confused as to what level this building should be. I currently have it set as L2, 20 Adults and 10/10 Households.  I'm guessing that Cities Skylines is similar to SimCity 4 in that the residents per house are exaggerated in order to get higher population levels? Guidance would be appreciated. Thanks

10 households feels like a bit much. Most 4x4 low-density buildings tend to hold 4-6 households, IIRC. Anyway, more art deco sounds great - it's possibly my favorite style.

When do we get underground tram stations? CO pls.

The table with this information is actually in the official wiki. Households (including up to 2 workers per household) per tile in residentials:

Zone Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5
Low Res .2 .25 .3 .35 .45
Hi Res .5 .75 1.0 1.25 1.5

    Hi Res .5 .75 1.0 1.25 1.5

Thanks for the link. I must be well confused.  I compare these two CO assets and it makes no sense to me. Same asset vastly different stats?

    6 Adults, 3 Households

    59b67f10c3465_Screenshot26.png.bde05cdd25b83511bc0da4ee97df4f20.png

    Same CO asset:-

    20 Adults, 10 Households

    59b680217ab5f_Screenshot25.png.97311d98f636c97daf4b689e8fb60d00.png

The first 4x4 has less residents than the second 3x3 ?

My lot is 3/3 so  I guess the stats are not too bad. ?

    Thanks

I also noticed that same sizes had different numbers of households. I guess the table is more or less a guideline to get the ballpark right.

Ah ok. I just want to be sure my stats are in the right ballpark. Thanks

I have some props for this project that I would like to upload as an asset pack. Four garden walls props. How do I upload all four crp files to steam as one prop pack? I believe that they have to be placed in one folder but then what?  Could someone please be kind enough to outline the process for me. Much appreciated. Mntoes

It's pretty simple but definitely not intuitive.

1.Find one of your props in your asset list and click "Share".

2.On the thumbnail, open the little folder by clicking the folder icon in the bottom-right corner (same way you add a custom PreviewImage.png).

3.next to the default "PreviewImage.png" (which you can change now too, optionally) there will be another folder, open that folder.

4.In there you will see a single asset.crp file that you are about to share. Add the rest of your .crp files to this folder.

    5. Share!

This one looks great. One question are you planning on doing any art deco shops?

Thanks. I have been looking at some hotels to model but not looked at many shops yet.  Having said that I have one art deco shop/restaurant in the pipe line but I'm keeping it secret yet while I learn the art of alpha mapping. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and generally don't show things until nearly ready.*:kitty:

Looking good - just one thing: could you move the building to the left / right on the grid so it will be a wall2wall building? If you don't want to do so it's okay for me too :) that's just a quick idea ;)

on the opposite side of the building (left or right) a parking spot or two could be placed ;)

I really like your original buildings, they look great, the art deco modern really works! - but the CIM police station conversion seems to have some scaling issues, looks like it should be 2x the size at least.

I thought that too while looking at the ingame screenshots ;) compare the door to a cim ingame - the door should be a bit higher than a cim ;)

I think the building would fit the whole footprint of the used tiles on x-axis if scaled right.

I love your models, but I also love the fact I didn't realise there were so many art deco buildings in the UK. I thought they would mostly be US; so it's very fascinating for me!
