Before I start my cj, which I kinda already did, lol, Heres a little history on Iceland! haha I know you love history!

Settled by Norwegian and Celtic (Scottish and Irish) immigrants during the late 9th and 10th centuries A.D., Iceland boasts the world's oldest functioning legislative assembly, the Althing, established in 930. Independent for over 300 years, Iceland was subsequently ruled by Norway and Denmark. Fallout from the Askja volcano of 1875 devastated the Icelandic economy and caused widespread famine. Over the next quarter century, 20% of the island's population emigrated, mostly to Canada and the US. Limited home rule from Denmark was granted in 1874 and complete independence attained in 1944. Literacy, longevity, income, and social cohesion are first-rate by world standards.

Religion:

Mostly Lutheran

The Population Of Iceland: 296,737

Interesting, I love history. Does Iceland have only 296000 inhabitants? I guess they have a lot of space left for... citybuilding! Look forward to more

Ooh... that's beautiful... I'll definately keep an eye on this one...

Like I've said before in other CJs, I usually only visit a CJ if EVERYONE is talking about it or the title catches my eye... and boy this title caught my eye, because Iceland is a place we hear a lot about very often, so if someone is re-creating it, it must be interesting! 19.gif  Do you live in Iceland yourself?  Actually we have an Icelandic communtiy north of my hometown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada called Gimli.  It has strong cultural ties to Iceland, because the immigrants were forced out by volcanic activity, I believe...

Do continue my interest is piqued! 16.gif44.gif

Nummereinz:  I think the reason your pics aren't showing up is because they are in ".png" (portable network graphics) format.

I tried using that format on my CJ and had trouble, too.

Note that your map of Iceland, which is in ".gif" (graphics interchange) format and the flag, which is a ".jpg" (joint something something) format is visible while the others aren't.

Will check back- am interested as to what you have for us.
