SimCity 4 will no longer launch!

I am having an issue where all of a sudden SimCity 4 won't run anymore! No matter how many time I try to click "Play SimCity 4' on the SimCity 4 Launcher, nothing happens! SimCity 4 does not run, it isn't even running as a process in the background! There isn't even a SimCity 4.exe process running on my computer, it is as if I didn't tell SimCity 4 to run at all, but I tried multiple times to run it. It just doesn't do anything. literally nothing happens!

 

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

My first question is: Are you playing a disc based version or digital? If disc based and using Windoze and it just got the MS DRM borker patch, that could explain it.

Neither. Installed from Disc and used a NOCD fix from Game Copy World

Ah. Well that would violate the EULA and we do not condone or help with that.

Gotta keep my discs scratch free somehow and I don't think it relates to the problem because it was working

A suggestion would be to purchase the game through any authorised retailer. One possible option includes GOG.com, who are actually running a sale right now until Monday. This would also be disk free, but is completely patched and a legitimate edition.

As @CorinaMarie explained, Using a no-CD patch circumvents the game's DRM, which is illegal. Therefore I'm afraid we can't support or discuss issues resulting from using such methods, so this thread will be closed.

You're welcome to open any thread pertaining to a legally obtained version.
