Jagged Edges Mod not working

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with the "Jagged Edge Mod" not working. I have the "Sudden Valley Terrain Mod" installed in the game. I get the zig-zag effect on all east facing walls. It Happens on 14m(hole digger), 15m(hole digger) walls but on the 24m (hole digger)walls, there is no zig-zag. But if I use the 15m there is bleed thru on the ramps, so I use the 14m hole digger for my Sunken Highways which has no bleed thru. I have used several "Jagged Edge Mods" like,

1. BRF Tunnel and Slope_bJENRONI

2. NHP Enn Slope Mod (# 315 version)

3. Diagonal Jagged Edge Mod ( with these 2 dat file installed, CP Diagonal Standard, Maxis diagonal Fix)

I have changed the Terrian Mod out to "Columbus Terrain Mod" and used the "Diagonal Jagged Edge Mod" and it works just fine with the east facing walls.

Any help would be appreciated

Here is a pic so you can see what I what I am talking about.

First off, the bleed-through on the ramp piece is most likely happening, because such pieces were designed to work at 14m, not 15m.

As for DJEM (note that stands for Diagonal Jagged Edge Mod), a standalone DJEM is not intended for use with a custom terrain mod. This is because the settings it alters are also the same properties that a terrain mod alters. So if you try to use both, you will end up with conflicts, depending on which mod loads later. Either you will get the DJEM settings, but the other terrain settings will not be altered or vice versa. The only way to add DJEM to a custom terrain mod, involves editing the relevant settings in the terrain mod files with iLives Reader. This tutorial explains how to do that, along with some additional settings you may or may not need:

These mods have nothing to do with the DJEM settings, those are in the terrain exemplars. Whereas Slope Mods alter completely different properties.

Ideally you should clear out any of these mods you have installed. Just install the desired terrain mod and then modify the DJEM settings as per the tutorial I linked to. Otherwise you are going to have multiple conflicting items lying around, which is a recipe for undesired behaviour.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

    Thanks for the reply rsc204,

I will do as you suggested and remove the Diagonal Jagged Edge Mod. Thanks for the advice and I will keep it in mind. I am going with the "Appalachian Terrain Mod".
