The above shopping plaza will be not be updated anytime soon. Some new textures are needed for its lot- and @kingofsimcity will need some time to create them.

    In other news:

Time is running out to submit your suggestion for the recycled Super Kmart contest. If any more suggestions any submitted between now and Monday, the final draft period will be extended to June 8 to allow you more time to polish your idea, but only if I get more rough draft suggestions before Monday.  Remember, you can use real life examples of Super Kmart stores being reused for commercial purposes.

A BAT request of your choice (and within my ability to make) is the prize.

Thank you to all who have thus far submitted final draft suggestions!

    Okay here is my submission.
Unfortunately my computer crashed and i had to do this on graph paper and redo my original plans but here it is.

My plan would be for the main tenant to be Christmas Tree shops. The tenant on the left would be Gordmans, assuming the leasing company of the property had a build to suit term and a higher facade would be built for them to obtain their current looks.  The smaller tenant on the right would be a HomeSense store by TJMaxx.

Christmas Tree Shops would require the hip style roof added and the faux windows on the “second floor”.

Gordmans could utilize the bump out next to the windows already in place for the gray stucco portion and would need a higher elevation.

homesense could be either of the two I provided but as a typical entryway gut and rebuild.

I have seen many recycled retail buildings do this. They guy a portion of the building to make an entryway to a new store. A former Shopko near me had a portion of their entrance gutted to build the signature At Home double gable entrance.

the square footage of each store: Gordmans averages 45,000-55,000 this location would be slightly larger and would be 55,000 Christmas tree shops 50,000-65,000 square feet. This location would be about 70,000 squarefeet a new larger prototype store. And HomeSense would be 30,000 square feet. If we extended the building into the current  garden center   It would be 55,000 bring the total building to 175,000 square feet

A Starbucks as a pad site with a drive thru  and a small plaza with a Jamba Juice, Remax Real Estate Agency, GameStop, and a Karate or Dance Studio would finish out the plaza

This way the parents of Simtropolis could drop their kids off and grab a drink and do some shopping. They can then go home with their minivans, SUVs and crossovers filled with their kids, highly caffeinated beverages and all their bargain home decor, accessories, furniture and apparel they bought to turn their homes into a model home.

The name of the shopping center would be Meadow Brook Crossing.

Looks we actually did get a last minute submission. Well alrighty then- I'll have to take a look at the two final presentations and decide which one works the best. Thank you all for participating in this contest. I'll let you all know shortly.

Congrats @dubaidude303! You are the winner of the recycled Super Kmart contest.

Your redevelopment plan design works the best in my book and has an excellent mix of tenants- both to sustain itself and brands that compliment each other. In addition, the brands chosen are more abundant than others on national level.  The fact that you even used brands I had not yet used makes it all the better. I can tell you took the time to do some research and it truly shows. Some of the brands you suggested may or may not stick, but I'll be sure to talk to you further about it on a PM.

@Billk2007 While your suggestion isn't bad, Gordmans is not ideal to have as a tenant right now. I have also already done Gordman's once- though on a much smaller scale. While it does have some stores in the United States, Homesense isn't really all that common.

Awesome! Thank you for liking my suggestion. Nice suggestion as well @Billk2007! Can’t wait to see process on this going forward. Thank you @RRetail!

@Billk2007 Again thank you for taking the time to come up with suggestion. It still nice to know what brands other may be thinking of from time to time that I am not.

@dubaidude303 Well for whatever reason I guess a PM will not come from me (at least at the moment). Getting an error message every time I try to send one your way.

@RRetail That’s strange. I’m getting same thing on my end. Let me look into it real quick!

Hey just wanted to stop by and say I'm a big fan of your work. Stores and strip malls are a overlooked and underproduced part of BATing, but they're key in making a suburban area feel complete. I'm looking forward to more of your work!

@dubaidude303 Glad to hear that. I have since done a few changes such as adding Pepboys to fill the auto center space. Once again a texture I requested is needed here for the lot, so I'll be holding on to this for now.

I'm honestly kind of all over the place in terms of making stuff- between working on props and occasionally a proper building likemail this for a lot.

On the positive side of things, one day soon there will likely be a day where a lot of stuff is updated and/or uploaded.

I'm really happy with the updated Shops at Simtropolis lot and the new Chick Fil A. You have no idea how much this is helping with my realistic suburbs look and all that. *:)

    unnamed.jpg

I'm not sure how to go about requests so I'm just going to ask if you've had any interest in doing an H-E-B store? I see that you've relotted a very old one and that ones pretty cool, but kins of only fits old areas lmao. I've got plenty of great Krogers, just a little in need of a modern H-E-B.

If you are interested, would you like me to link some more pictures and plans of one that is local to me (the above)? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I make no promises at this time. I've actually got quite a few projects at the moment I need to finish before I commit to anything new.

That being said, feel free to link those pictures so I can decide if it will be doable for me.

Big day of new uploads! (Be sure to have both prop packs. Highly recommended to delete the prior pack 1 version before)

All good! I couldn't make out what it said. The design looked similar to a Taco John's. Excited for the Bruster's though!
