didn't help that the Wal Mart market in my area is Gray and White.

Ah I see. It got the ugly exterior color scheme. Sorry but I hate that paint job as it looks so out of place on supercenters and market stores in my opinion. It doesn't look bad on non-supercenter stores though. I prefer the style that @Evanjs showed above.

It seems like Walmart has different design for areas and newer stores.

No, it just depends upon when things were built as it does for most things. The plan is to eventually have all stores have 'black and blue' exterior.

I don’t like Walmart. But do like the market a bit better. I think this would make a lot of good reskins.

I haven't forgotten about the RLS mall 2.0 relot. This is a project that I have no set time frame for and don't know when it will be uploaded. I've been working on it every now and then (mainly when my BATs are exporting). Here's what has been done so far.

The funny thing is that this mall is the whole reason why I started making new stuff as I wanted a Sears Auto Center and a plaza with signs in the back. Can't forget about all the mall signs found in my first prop pack, right?

I like to see different versions. Ik it takes time but I’ve like to see a different restaurant on different model of the mall. Thanks for all the work you doing RR. Have a great day.

In case you didn't see it. Enjoy!

@Evanjs I have no intentions to change the restaurants out. My aim is to provide a basic blueprint. If you really want to do that, you can do that yourself.

I hate WM with a burning passion, but I do love the look of this store. Amazing work. Just plopped one in my city. I've got about a 5:1 Kmart:Walmart ratio in my cities, so one's the limit. *

I was fortunate to see and feel how Walmart used to be before Sam Walton died. It all changed after he passed away as it became to corporate controlled. I still will shop at Walmart, as well as Kmart, as I refuse to give any of my money to Amazon. At least Walmart and other brick and mortar stores have physical stores that DO pay local taxes and actually provides thousands of jobs. It also doesn't help my feelings for Amazon as they have been at least partly to blame for the demise of so many chains. (Bon Ton family, Toys R Us, Magic Mart, etc.)

Amazon also feels like it is practically a monopoly now that it is into the pharmacy business. Seriously, the only area in retail where Amazon is nonexistent is gas stations and car dealerships. Give them time and they will probably be there too.

Sorry you got me talking about something I'm passionate about. :D

    Rant over.

Anyways, I'm looking for imput on what to make next. Feel free to post what you'd like to see at this time.

I only shop Amazon if I need to. Sadly all Kmart in my area has closed. So I have to go to Walmart for Christmas or the city which is 1 hour away.

    Some ideas to consider...

    Shopko

    Shopko Hometown

    Menards

Super Kmart (I know, I know)

Fareway (grocery store chain mainly in Iowa and nearby states)

Personally, I like looking for stuff on Amazon (I collect rare sneakers), to see availability, and then paying for it on a smaller retailer/ebay online or going to an actual retailer just to mess over Amazon. I cannot stand Jeff Bezos and how he makes his workers experience the gulag.

Here's what I'd love to see, since you asked:

Mejiers- since you made a Mejiers gas prop, how about that Mejier's to go with it. The ones here in Cincy are in their own shopping malls with places like Fresh Tyme, Koles, and a McDonalds in the parking lot.

I think that could be on the list in the future for RR but not sure. I personally would love to see one as well. Being a Cincy person myself, I want to do some local stuff, and a Skyline Chili is definitely going to be a future release from me.

I may let @pclark06 handle some of those things you mentioned because I've never heard of them before. It helps he knows the area too.

It's likely I'll try to pursue a Meijer; just need to find some good reference pictures as I have never been to one.

I'm taking a quick breather from making Kmart stuff as I don't want to overwhelm people with the same store. I still want to pursue an '80s style store, '90s style and of course the ultimate task of a supercenter.

Shopko and Menards may come, but with time. Personally, I'm trying to work my way up to making big stuff so I have a better understanding of how big the building would need to be.

I may focus my attention on something small as I won't be home this weekend.

I know the poster spelled Kohl's wrong, but some Meijer locations here usually have Kohl's, a McD's, Steak N' Shake, and a Fresh Thyme which is an organic food market. I'm pretty sure I know where he is referencing, lol

Meijer is headquartered in my home state of Michigan. I only have 3 that are within minutes of my home lol. Here are the 2 most common Meijer designs:

@ericexp @RRetail like Ericexp showed this are the most common. Both that are which about 50/50 designs. What I mean is most of the ones in my area is half the first one and half the 2nd one.

Meijer experimented with a few other designs during the 90's and 2000's. There is weird one in Southgate, MI with a round structure on the front which is affectionatly called "the pineapple". There is one in Livonia, Mi that looks like a small village on the outside. They have also taken over Super K Marts and other defunct retailers in some areas and didn't change the design much. IMO, though the ones I pictured are the best.

@RRetail also this is idea. Most Meijers are usually bigger then most Walmart SuperCenters and Kmart at least the ones I’ve been into.

Well aware of Meijers taking over old Kmart supercenters. That in itself is why Kmart supercenter no longer exists as Kmart sold the last of them to Meijer's. This also tells me they are big stores.

Thanks for all the reference pictures! I definitely won't get started on one until at least next week. It's also likely I may look a few different stores up and get an idea from there. I also kind of doubt I'll make one that uses a lot of glass, but we'll see.
