Hey,

ok for some reason not sure as to why or if it can be done, but I have for the first time trying to run rhw-6 through a hill. It will only allow to go over not through. It only carves out the hill producing a slice through the hill. Is there a way to force the subject?

I did figure I can run MHW through as a tunnel then transition from MHW to rhw 4 then back to rhw 6. But was looking for cleaner way to do it.

The RHW network does not support functional tunnels.  It's a hardcoded limitation, unfortunately.

You can also use Rivit's Tunnel Mod to change OWR tunnels to an OWR-3 version that matches more adequately to an incoming RHW-6. Keep in mind that the change is totally esthetical and the built tunnels will be a bottleneck (OWR is slower than RHW and the number of lanes inside the tunnel is two regardless of the look of the entrances), even if that is not completely unrealistic (people that wants to avoid a gruesome death normally drive slower inside tunnels). Oh, and also the mod applies to all OWR tunnels, so you'll have to use NWM width transitions to use them on ordinary situations.

thanks Tarkus! At least now I can stop punishing myself!

Thanks Matias93! Tried that and it seems to be a problem because for the one ways to line up they have to be one tile separation between the two runs which makes it even more of a mess to transition back to RHW 6.

So I guess I will use MHW through and transition to RHW 6. It seems I can transition MHW to RHW.

Forget to mention that! Use some of the Ennedi slope mods and configure the tunnel mod to use it (the instructions are on the read me), after that all tunnels of the same height will be possible to build side to side.

Most in Europe actually have significantly reduced speed limits inside them, some with cameras to enforce it too. A shame because I do enjoy tunnel blasting every now and again, however childish it may be :D.

That's really the best solution to tunnels when using RHW. If you want that to look seamless from RHW-6, find an excuse to put in an interchange either side of the tunnel. One side can have exit ramps (d type), with a lane branching off, so the highway transitions cleanly to RHW-4.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Thanks I might give that a go and see how that works.

Thanks! I didn't think about an interchange. I've been trying to use them as much as I can just to get a little better at building them.

Oh by the way is the El-Rail have the same limitation as RHW with tunnels?

Been trying to run a El-Rail through but only allow going over which kinda looks silly at best.

Yes, but morifari did an el-rail to subway piece, that sits on slopes 24 metres high and looks like a tunnel

Oh well I can work with the MHW to rhw transition. But that sucks for el-rail. I will just have to run them around the hills.
