An example of a PEG boardwalk...

I have installed the boardwalk pack made by PEG, yet, I do not know how to place them properly!

On the edge of the land/water, you really need to level the entire coastline. There are a number of ways to do this, but it's a tedious necessity.

The lots that go in the water though, they just need to be plopped.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

I find it easier for placing the over-water sections to use the Water Pollution map to uncover what the seabed looks like. It's easier than guessing where it's going to be placed only to have it appear a tile off bore. The CDK3 Leveler will be your best friend as these lots like to be at a very specific height and will sink in if your edge is too high. I started using the leveler for low-laying airports that require landfill past the natural shoreline.

The marina pieces are a little trickier and may require a little bit of trial an error. I personally like to separate them by four tiles over from each other to give the boats ample room to 'maneuver' around without getting stuck in the spaces or risk hitting obstacles. This is more for aesthetics as these files offer a really good degree of realism to waterfront cities like in a Pier 39 type of setting.

As for some of the pieces on the Old Wooden Waterfront selection, you can see how there is an added runner that can be connected from the points where the boats are moored. For the sake of the way these lots flow together, try to have them match together. Otherwise it wouldn't be necessary since it's a modular set.
