Thanks, I think they're generic enough you could use them anywhere, they don't have Japanese writing on them or anything :D I was just really inspired by Japan.

A set like this is pretty taxing for me, I actually want to create more and more Japanese themed assets because I'm thinking of starting a series one day, when I save up for a good GPU.

What kind of styles do you have in mind? Google street view is a nice way to show them.

Whoops, I was looking at the roads with your custom textures before I commented ^^ So yeah, I will definitely use them!

And I was thinking about some North American pillars, since I'm going to build a US city soon. I don't have anything in mind or have any images to show, I can get some if you are interested in making some (doesn't have to be 18 of them!)

    I need help I think.

Some users are reporting that the pillars don't show up in-game, I tried to subscribe to the pillar set myself and yeah they don't show up for me as well... Why is this? They show up in the menu workshop tab, but not in the assets tab... They are downloaded though, I can see them in the steam workshop content folder, and the pillar.xml file is in each folder.

Tried copying it to the local asset folder... only the very first pillar shows up :/ no idea what to do

EDIT2: nevermind, just reuploaded them individually...

    Here's the collection:

    My first mod is out!

    ERiKJPc.png

This mod allows you to change the strength of the shadows that objects cast using a slider, it also saves and loads the value next time.

I recommend using it in combination with the Softer Shadows mod by boformer, which makes the dark side of the buildings less dark:

This is my first mod. I don't really understand modding C:S or Unity, so I messed around with ModTools and found out you can change the directional light shadow strength, then I figured out a script to do it. And then I took the source code of the emergency lights changer, also by boformer, and figured out how to make this mod, it works for me and I hope it does for others as well.

Also Roads United: Japan is very slowly getting some progress:

Wow that really nice! When will you release the decals? :)

The post literally states twice - today :D

If you have an idea i'll probably make it, if it makes sense as a decal!

Well i saw it at the workshop, http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=767233815&searchtext=, bur

Didnt think it included the decals itself, just the possibility to make big decals...if you you know what i mean :P

Oh that, that's the mod boformer made. Thanks to that mod anyone can now make big decals.

The mod is necessary to get big decals, but it doesn't include any in itself.

These flowing shapes are difficult to get right in general and me being new to low poly doesn't help.

I'm not sure I'm getting the shape quite right, it's the JR Shinkansen 700 if anybody wants to compare.

They aren't on the workshop yet.

I still need to figure out how to do the wires properly, I did some experimentation with the "Custom/Net/Electricity" shader but not sure how it works and how to achieve what I want.

Just a plane with a curved wire texture on it doesn't look too good, but the vanilla electricity wires on the powerlines are way better, they have good anti aliasing and look good from a distance. If I can't figure out the wires in a couple days I'll put those on the workshop with the same wires I did a few posts ago.

Oh, are these going to be functional electricity poles? I thought they were just going to be props.

Could you also post a simple prop version? This would look awesome standing in some back alleys.
