DATpacker found damaged exemplars, how to repair them?

When packing my plugins folder (after three long weeks of boring full reinstalling), DATpacker found a series of errors with exemplars. I can recognize some of the fields and values, and think I can found where to repair them using the Reader or SC4Tool, but I have no idea of what the values should be. I tried downloading the original files, thinking an internet glitch could have corrupted them, but no avail, they keep flagging as damaged when packing.

Strangely enough, if I let the files unpacked, they appear in the game and are usable. What restricts me from using this option is that the past year I did so and one of the affected buildings corrupted an entire city tile with unreal NIMBY effects, so my options now are to repair them knowingly or to simply discard them.

Specifically, the affected files are:

  • Buzzit German pylon set v.1.0 (all files),
  • Buzzit Tubular Pole Set (all files),
  • Ceafus CVFD Rural Firestation,
  • Dusktrooper Keaton Plaza,
  • BSP Davidson Block,
  • Jasoncw Sundry Building,
  • Simcity4ie Connolly Hall, and
  • Simcity4ie Nationale Suisse

Taking the file  Simcity4ie Nationale Suisse as an example, it's the SC4Desc File that seems to be the problem, you have invalid data there.

Basically three properties are incorrect, as per the errors from DATPacker;

  • Pollution at Centre
  • Pollution Radi
  • Occupant Size

In each case, there should be a set of values, but there is only one. For example, Occupant size is set to simply 0. Assuming it's using a blank model of some kind, you might want to change that to three reps, 0,0,0 or perhaps if it's a model, find the actual sizes, which usually can be found in the XML entry of the SC4Model file.

Again for Pollution at Centre, we have just one rep, 0x0000000A. But there should be four reps. Pollution Radi also has only one of four reps.

In such circumstances, I'd toss the current Buildings Exemplar and generate a new one using PIM-X. This will fix all the values for you. Then you can either re-link it to the existing lot or simply make a new one, remove all the textures from this new lot, then use the reader to copy all the LotConfig entries to re-create the original lot layout in your new file.

Well, I know for sure, that Buzzit's Tubular Pole Set is suffering the Occupant Size=0 error as well as Jasoncw's Sundry Building and Ceafus' fire station. I fixed the Tubular Pole Set by using PIM-X to create new Props. The Sundry Building can be fixed with iLive's Reader. As I recall the Plop version has the right occupant size in the file so that's an easy fix.

The problem is here, that there are really a lot of buildings out there for download with this error and those can cause CtDs. This is what happened to me a couple of times.
I texted Jasoncw a long tome ago and he answered that he's gonna fix them, but it's not done yet.
