Features bugging out?

Heya there

I seem not to be able to post a picture with my latest CJ feature...More accurately the picture seems to have uploaded to Simtropolis but I can't see it in the preview window once I've submitted my feature.

Any way to fix it? I've tried different pictures but it all shows as an empty square when I preview the feature, despite the file being on the servers (this is hosted on Simtropolis)56d75bb5e5bfe_30(14).jpg.7aacd17b273db10)

You should probably switch to using a photo site such as imgur (now free), and post only the URL using the "Insert other media" button at the lower right.  Simtropolis doesn't have unlimited space for images on its cloud that is used for this, and you may have overflowed it.

If you are using a photo site, be sure the URL is recognizable to this site and has an appropriate extension such as .jpg.  The social network sites don't seem to be doing this.

My software says that the image you posted above is a *.jpg, so it should have been OK.

Hi @Linoa06

I've taken a look at your feature:
https://community.simtropolis.com/features/westport-logistics-r271/

It seemed the image had parentheses "( )" in the file name. Not sure why, but the feature slider doesn't display images containing them.

After removing these, it should now be working. ;)

Ah allright. Thanks a lot! :D

I also cleared my Chrome cache since other features were beginning to bug, most notably the post window, and that seems to have fix everything.

    Thanks again :D

There is a syntax requirement that a pathname must be without delimiter charaters such as parentheses or spaces.  This is so that the scanners, mostly LR(k) will work correctly.  You can override this usually by enclosing the complete pathname in double quite marks.

Note in this example that the path contains spaces and parentheses:

    "C:/Program Files (x86)/Maxis/SimCity 4 Deluxe/Apps/SimCity 4.exe"

In this example the scan would have stopped at the colon (:) if the quotes were not there.

Please don't be confused by the slashes (/), my file system uses them as separators as opposed to backslash (\).
