Looks great, love all these buildings, they look a lot more realistic than the ingame ones.

One minor thing I noticed is you may want to seperate the smoothing groups on some of your pipes / pumps. I see they are causing some of the shading to be angled weird. You can also use edit normals to fix it (don't know what it's called outside of max).

Here's a quick example what I mean:

    I see. For some random reason I hadn't even marked edges sharp where they were supposed to be. :P Played around with the shading on the pumps aswell - can't get them like I really want them without changing the mesh, but I think this looks better. Ty for the advice. :D

    And that's my large water pumping station done - pretty happy with this one and now I can finally get rid of my 8 pumps sucking up my rivers. :P Hope you guys enjoy

    Ty very much for the kind words. :)  As a little "inbetween" project I'm messing around with putting some of the ingame logos on cargo trucks, starting with an oil truck trailer to match my large oil tank. To let it stand out a bit more from the shell one I've gone for a black base, but I could really use some feedback. (The logo is a bit more stretched than I want it to, but I'll fix)

    Great idea! Only comment from my end is that the text is getting a bit lost in the background colour. You could make the text white, or see if you can darken the background more.

    Ty. :) Yeah, I'm not totally happy with that look. I'd like to keep the red text as the ingame sign has that too. I could try making the base color darker, but much of the texture detail is already gone. Gave it a try in white instead. It would fit my growable oil tank better like that, but it also gives it a look much closer to the shell one (not sure if that bothers me or not :P). Might experiment a bit with colors (end or front could have some to make it more interesting).

    In case you missed it I uploaded some more of the default vehicles as props as well as a finished oil truck with the flame logo.

    I've also updated my train recolors, which I have wanted to do for a while. I've learned more about texturing and Acc3ss Violation put up some really nice oil tanker cars a while back I wanted to swap to. I also uploaded prop versions to decorate those railyards. :)

    I like the props you've extracted from the vanilla game. They're very useful.

    And those train cars and tractor trailers look excellent.

    I just released a few rooftop props. Partly I'm too lazy to model the same chimneys on different buildings, partly decorating the roof is something I prefer to do in the asset editor. Plus props can be set to only spawn sometimes, so it can give more varied buildings. I figured there might be others out there who'd like them too. Some I modelled myself, some I extracted from factories in game.

    And then there are the air ducts. I love using Shroomblaze's Rooftop Hvac System, but on a large roof it can only fill up so much space. So I made some bits to go with it and he let me use the texture, so the air ducts match. :D They can be used alone or put together as puzzle pieces (on a flat roof atleast). Let me know if there are any shapes you feel are missing/would be usefull.

    And now back to the project I got side-tracked from. :P

    Time to show of the project I'm working on atm. It's a modular recycling facility. I like having dedicated areas in my city to handle garbage, but plopping 3-4 of the same recycling center next to each other looks a little silly. :P As you can see they will connect to each other, so there are many possibilities of shapes and sizes to make. Ofc they will be much more detailed - for now I wanted to test if I could make them fit together. The main building will look just fine on it's own, but the other bits will look silly if they aren't next to something they can connect to. I decided to stick with that as there are other nice recycling centers for smaller needs. So far my plan is to have 1 main building, 3 "addon" buildings and a storage area (not done any modelling of that yet). Each "addon" building will be a specialized recycling area (plastic, cans, glass and so on - haven't decided on which I'll do).

    Oh man. I have a weakness for really good recycling facilities. They just look awesome. I can't wait until this is done.

    The main building/sorting center is pretty much done. Haven't done stats for it yet - I'll do that when all bits are ready - but I'm pretty happy with the model and colors. :)  Now to start the materials recovery facilities. Since they'll share the look of this one I can look forward to a bit easier texturing work. :D

    Ty everyone ^^ First materials recovery facility is done (unless I decide to change stuff ofc :P ). I started with glass and think I'll do cans/aluminium next.

    Aluminium MRF done. Next up is plastic and I'm thinking of doing paper aswell. I have more on my brainstorm list, but I'm not sure it'll be so interesting with that many parts (they'll all be in the same building style, but different sizes and shapes ofc). Would you guys be interested in more materials recovery facilities?

    They look great! Keep up the great work! Glass, Paper, Plastic, Aluminum, and metal/ewaste/scrap would make the recycling center complete.

     

    I'd love it if plastic, aluminum, iron/steel, and paper became inputs for generic industry (in addition to oil, coal (unless we are supposed to believe that coal and iron are mined and processed together), lumber, and processed food). That would require DLC but would let your excellent recycling centers feed our industry.

     

    Ploppable RICO might let you produce refined drilling products from your plastic facility, refined mining products from aluminum (and scrap metal) facility, and arefined forestry products from paper. Glass and the main building would never send out freight trucks, in case we want to reduce congestion instead of feeding our industry.

    I have actually thought about doing that with RICO. :P  I'll look into it when the buildings are all done, and hopefully by then there'll be a bit more info on how to do that. :)
