Sorry for bumping an old topic.

My first post on here, thought I'd share a coal power plant I've been working on recently. The original site is the brick power plant to the bottom half of the screen, as the population in the region has increased, demand for power has also increased so further B and C sites were built on the peninsula. The site has rail access to bring in coal. 

I'd wanted to do a port, but hadn't quite got the room and I don't even know where to begin with creating my own lots. I discovered SimCity 4 quite recently, I played it when I was younger, but I didn't realise the extensive modding community out there. Thank you to all the content creators out there for making some really beautiful props. I'll apologise in advance if I've shared anything I shouldn't regarding custom content.

Absolutely not at all!  Quite the opposite in fact, and thanks for sharing a preview of your creation.

I particularly like the scale of your power plant complex for how it covers a wide area by the waterfront. Then with each of the sections like the rail yard and the substation, and of course the cooling towers and main buildings. Very realistically done indeed.

This is a nice section to display my offshore wind farms!

This first project are GE Haliade-X WTGs with a max power output of 14MW.

A few turbines are undergoing scheduled maintenance with personnel on the TP and the Nacelle top.

Going for some high-performance power generation here! Just built a nuclear power plant to support the Jaicoa metropolitan area, located at Punta Camaceyes, to the northeast of the grand metropolis!

This nuclear power plant consists of two reactors, each driving a power generation of 65,000 MWh per month, together providing 130,000 MWh monthly, equivalent to 208 MW of nominal power with a capacity factor of 85%.

 

 

Protecting the facility is a levee armored with tetrapods, acting as a shield against tsunamis and storm surge. The one opening across this barrier is the cooling water discharge channel, which possesses gates to close off this exit whenever water threatens the facility.

Some neat stuff shared above, on a topic especially relevant these days! Was actually looking for a picture of a squirrel when I stumbled across these old ones around the dam in an earlier city. The idea was to create a city sharing characteristics with Tampere, Finland, where industry built up around hydro power where a large lake flowed into another would eventually result in one of the country's largest manufacturing cities. I thought it was neat to be able to relatively smoothly incorporate three types of water into a small area, as well as find a number of HD bats for details around the dam's power infrastructure. Don't have any plans to return to this project but fun to remember some of the ideas put into it during its early phases
