Hi,

I have been making a city building game app with someone for months, I'm making the graphics.

It's now launched, play it, and let me know what do you think :)

It's like a mini Simcity, it have game stats that shows you the desirability of the zones, happiness (the less happy the less revenues), simple terraforming, and other features...

Yeah many of my friends are on iOS too, it won't be available on it soon, it costs money to have a developer account on iOS and many other things, while Google is free :)

You can play it on pc though using this: http://www.andyroid.net/:)

I downloaded it. It is fun for a game on my phone but I pretty much stopped playing games on my phone a while ago. I like the futuristic theme.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

Not catchy I guess, I always thought that such games are better played on pc (or tablet), a big screen basically, but it's tool late for that :)

I'm glad that you liked it, feel free to leave a feedback and rate it :)

Any advices to make it better would be great too

I have tested it today and the models look so great! The only thing I don't really like is that every house gets more expensive when you've already built one before. But I guess that's the only way to make some money with the app. Has someone really bought something with real money yet?

Thanks, yes it's as you said.

There aren't many people playing it yet, just few people that I know, and maybe the few here on Simtropolis, it takes time to get known, maybe monthes

I like the game more than most others I played on my phone. I reached level 17 and have almost 1,500 population without having to spend real money yet.

    Cool :D

    What's your city name? I'll take a look :D

I made a small one, it's the one called Ayed

You can play a lot without paying anything, but later you have to use gold to buy many of the cool buildings, you also get some gold when you pass levels and in some achievements

I just did the graphics, the programmer made other two games https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Sphere+Game+Studios

But I'm intending to learn some programming too

Wow this is neat! Just Installed it on my ASUS eee pad and it works with no hitches at all :thumb:

Only played it for a short while but I am impressed. Keen to see where you go with this. Hopefully finally a city building game that can be played on a tablet without all the DRM that are in other games... Hopefully!

Will users be able to make custom content for this game?

    Hey there,

I'm glad that you liked it, I enjoy playing it too actually.

I don't think users will be able to make custom content for the game, it's an app after all, but I'll be glad to make the buildings that you suggest some time.

Marcopolis is doing very well. Since I last posted, I realized that the price of buildings eventually go from cash to gold as you build a certain amount. In order to maximize population at only level 25, I had to spend some of my gold reserves on high capacity housing. However, I have yet to run out of gold so I should run into no problems for at least a week. I don't have much money to spend on in-app purchases but I might spend up to $20 over the lifetime of any app. Once I hit the $20 mark, I usually change play style or stop playing the game.

That's true, but there's still plenty to play without gold, it would just take longer.

Btw, there are some buildings that you can buy with gold, and will later keep generating gold instead of cash, there are some commercial buildings that does that, and the gold mine, also upgrading them is free (but it costs alot if you want to make the building upgrade instantly), so the difference is time.

Later on when you can't play without gold or the game is too slow, you can get a gold mine and it wil generate gold over time, it will also give more gold when you upgrade it.

For now, if a building costs gold instead of cash, you can just build the other ones available, there will also be new buildings unlocked at each level, so that will give you plenty to work with for your city :) The best is unlocked at the higher levels :)

I have taken a look on your city btw, it's cool :D

    My city is called Nowhere

We're still going to change and add some graphics, like changing the water, maybe allow to make canals for the city, new road types, etc.. Maybe more than 2x2 tiles buildings' too later.

I may had broke your game. Dyharrasburg is now the largest city on your game now. Quite a lot of things to say, but I'll prefer to do my own review on some place at a time soon.

The world is what you make of it, no matter what others say or do, you are still responsible for what you do.

Finding a way to criticize everything is a waste of time and effort that can be used to do something enjoyable.

I meant Toronto for my city name. I been to Toronto 5 times, and adore the cn tower

hey, u guys made a designer city 2 right? ITs been awesome. Just saying, I kinda want unlimeted space, and keep on expanding, like once you runned out of room, on a map, u add a second map expanding. Like a big expansion, with small expansions in between. Pls replie, I really like ur graphics and hills and stuff, but I really want this wonderful game to be unlimted. And in designer city 1, had monorrail. My city in designer city 2 they have trains. And now my trains have train tracks on roads. LOL. Oh, and add highways pls. I end up making loop a loops trying 2 make highways. Thx

I named my city Sparktlon Hills. BTW Pls Reply

BTW, on the first picture at the top, it looks like the city has a bridge highway. How did that happen? And pls bring back the police and fire Headquarters back from Designer City 1 to Designer City 2. I missed having 2 types of fire stations.
