If you wouldn't mind, scaling down would be the better option.

It honestly wouldn't be the biggest of cities for two reasons - 1) I tend to make small cities/scenic cities.  I like the challenge of it rather than HAVING ALL THE POPULATION.  2)  I visit this section of coast (Brooms Head) every year around Christmas/New Years time.  Brooms Head itself is nothing much more than a caravan park.  Your own style of highway would be best.  Alot of the Pacific Highway in this particular region is one lane each way, with some stretches of dual carriageway.

So long as Brooms Head is in the map, I'm a happy man :)

Total IRL population of the region in my Google Maps clipping would be lucky to hit 10-15000

    Cheers,
    Sam.

Oke doke I'll see what I can do. May take a little longer than usual and the heights may not be accurate as I can't really read height maps (or know where to find them) but I'll try my best.

is it possible to get that south west rocks map on workshop? i don't really know how to put it in my game otherwise, but it looks great!

I can't for some reason. Steam wont let me upload it sorry. To put it in the map files you have to go into

C:Drive (or whereever you installed Steam) ---> User--->(yourusername--->Appdata--->Local--->Colassal Order--->Cities Skylines ---->Maps and put the ,crp file in there.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

    James

I'd like to request that you make a map of the Daytona Beach Florida area, but I am not sure what information you would need from me. Do you need any details of the area or would you look up that yourself?

If you'd like a scale map of the area then that's fine I just need to know what sort of resources your after on the map?

If you want a certain area in it though or you want me to do a scaled down version from a certian place to a certian place then I'll need to know fropm where to where as well.

    Cheers

    Requested_Real_World_004_Brooms_Head_Aus

Here is the map requested by fig_aro of the Broom's Head area of Australia.

I had to scale the map down to the Broom's Head bit so I hope that's ok as I couldn't get it right by eye. Still I think its one of my better maps and looks pretty interesting from above.

Anyway the actual map is in the Temperate Biome as requested and has a whole tonne of trees with some fertile land (and a tiny bit of oil and ore mainly just for the colour variations as these weren't requested as such.) Has all the connections and as requested I linked a finctional single lane road (via highway ramps) up to another fictional main highway. It's all in the build area though so don;t worry you can improve the roads as your city grows!

Hope this is ok for you fig_aro!

    Hope you all enjoy!

Also if you guys have any images of cities built on my maps please feel free to post them here. I'd love to see them!

    Cheers

that looks great! if you're not sick of australian places yet, could I suggest you make a map of the Forster, Tuncurry area, NSW? its more urbanised, and therefore should involve less guesswork than SW Rock. all connections and resources included, because that's how I like my maps :)

by the way, SW Rock itself also looks great. many, many, thanks! i'll be back with pictures.

Real World Map 005: Daytona Beach, USA

    Real_World_Map_005_Daytona_Beach_USA_Are

    Real_World_Map_005_Daytona_Beach_USA_Gro

This is the map of the Daytona Beach area of Florida requested by a user on Simtropolis in a Tropical Biome.

It shows a stretch of the beach where the centre of the actual town is located and has both the I-95 and I- 92 interchange and the I-95 and I-4 interchange,

Also included is a long strip of the beach and a large number of pools of water that are slightly artistically licensed but are an attempt to represent the many pools of water that cover the area.

At the requesters instruction we have plenty of trees and some fertile land patches away from the shore as well as a bit of ore to have some varied land colours but no oil as the requester didn't want any.

Can I request Chattanooga, TN? A winding river through the mountains, with flat ground nestled in the valleys. Should make for a beautiful map.

wallacet: Just taken a look at it on Terrain.net and its a pretty big area. Do you want me to just get the centre bit of it with a couple of the surrounding islands as the buildable area or scale it out a bit and try and get more of it in?

Here's the map requested by Chesh of the Forster/Turncurry area of Australia.

Done in the Temperate Biome this contains all the resources as requested and all the major land masses around the area. Should hopefully create a interesting area to build on.

The main highway route is based roughly around The Lakes Way Road and runs from north to south and a fictional train line runs parrallel to it. As requested it also has air and sea connections.

My wife and I love a town called Salida, CO. We go there now and then- love to see it recreated for Skylines- very tough terrain to mod.

Whatever is easier to make a map out of. Chattanooga is a very mountainous area, but the 3 main mountains are Lookout mountain, Signal mountain, and Racoon Mountain, with Missionary ridge running to the east.

    z4tEOV1.png

This area is the core of Chattanooga, and the most buildable area. Get this area, and whatever else fits, fits.

wallacet: Your map's done, hope its ok for you, I had to scale it down a bit to get it all in though.

SimCoug: It looks pretty intersting from google earth so will hopefully make a nice map to play on!

Real World Map 007: Cattanooga USA

    Real_World_Map_007_USA_Area_View.jpg

    Real_World_Map_007_USA_Ground_View.jpg

This is the real world map of Chattanooga, USA that was requested by a user on Wallacets made in the Temperate Biome.

Due to the whole area of Chattanooga being a lot larger than the area that we have available in a Cities Skylines Map the scale is 1 – 1.5, so the 2x2km squares in the map actually represent a 3x3km square of the real Chattanooga area and due to this, although I've tried my best to remain as accurate as possible, the roads and small creeks will be larger in game than they would be in real life. Still I'm pretty sure this won't affect the maps playability that much.

As for the resources, it has everything, though mostly forestry and fertile land. As for the connections it has highway 24 and its interchange with highway 27 and highway 75 and its interchange with highway 27, though they take up more land than they do in real life. Obviously it has no water connections but has the plane ones running roughly over where the airport is in real life.

    STEAM link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=499348288

Anyway I hope you all enjoy the map and don't forget to request any maps over in my thread if you want anything!

    Cheers

Real World Map 005: Salida, Co, USA

    Real_World_Map_008_Salida_Co_Area_View.j

    Real_World_Map_008_Salida_Co_Ground_View

This is the map of the Salida in Colorado requested by a user on Simtropolis in a Temperate Biome.

It covers the whole town as its fairly small as well as the nearby town of Poncha Springs and Smeltertown.

To try and add some variation into the actual terrain I've done it as a fertile valley surrounded by scrubland. There are a lot of all the resources spread around as they offered more variations to the ground colour more than being accurate or realistic.

As for the connections it has the 285 running North to South with route 50 intersecting it East to West and the connecting 291, as wella s the flight paths crossing over where the airport is in real life.

Wouldn't it be better to have a peace of ocean in the purchasable area? Maybe by scaling down the map a little bit?

I'd like to suggest an town, which is Taos, NM. It would be mixed with grassy and desert ground, and would include Interstate 64. It could also include the other ones near it, like Taos Pueblo, or Ranchos De Taos.
