Damn, those images look real! Nicely done, Judazzz. :)

A few simple graphics tweaks go a long way, right? :)
75% of those visuals are achieved just by disabling tonemapping, the rest is a good LUT and some fine-tuned lighting settings.

I got really inspired by Coney Island out in Brooklyn. The concrete is supposed to mimic a boardwalk and of course I got more!

Well, there are some new places in city of Gibraltar.

One else cozy narrow road. In real life almost all streets in Gibraltar are so narrow or even narrower. Sorry for my clumsy English o.O

Also, I made some graphic comparison between default game and Ultimate Eyecandy. (Thanks Judazzz!)

I can see Coney Island right out my window :) In the future after I finish some train/metro stuff, I plan on creating some Coney Island assets including the Stillwell station, amusement park and surrounding buildings. Your pics do have the Coney Island look.

Where did you get those projects above the rocks in the 1st pic?

I've been lurking here for a long time enjoying the beautiful shots, but I haven't had anything I felt was worth sharing - until now! Not a whole lot today, but I love them. I'm using pretty much all the graphical mods we have plus a custom map theme (which I might release at some point). The "theme" of my post today is randomly busses. :P Using my modular bus stations I got some nice little transport hubs with lovely decorations. In the near future I'll prop post some more shots of my city. :)

Wow, lovely screenshots, guys!
Gibraltar looks amazing - I love your style, and you have a great eye for detail!
I also thought I recognized Coney Island before I read the description, especially the first one with the massive housing projects behind the 'boulevard' (and even without the iconic Cyclone and Parachute Jump ;) ).
And it's great to see some of your screens, @Avanya: I always wonder if our modelers and modders have/take time to actually enjoy the game itself, instead of just creating, creating, creating for others...

Hehe, playing the game is actually the motivator for me. :P If I get a bit bored with modelling I play the game for a while and eventually I just can't help making something more I miss in my city. It all started as I was really annoyed with the same 3 buildings in my ore industry area. I gotta say it's a huge boost as well to see the stuff I make appear in beautiful shots here and on reddit - it's so cool to see what people come up with :D

Some of these shots. :ooh:

Puts mine to shame. Shall have to look at getting some colour and texture mods as well. Starting to roll out some district themes. Here is Sterling Street in the area of Belsizes. Belsizes is a prominent retail area of the city and Sterling Street is the main shopping street of the city. The station on the right there is Sterling Street station. Four stations serve this road. One at the north end of the street called Versatia Circus and one further down, Middle Sterling Street, and the fourth at the south junction with Queen Street. Sterling Street Station is currently the busiest in the city with a weekly ridership averaging just over 2000 a week. Once the Devillian Metroway is fully up and running, this figure is likely to jump.

What is that building with ZENTRU on the front?

I'm doing some asset skimming so if I come across it I'll let you know, but off the top of my head I can't remember. Speaking of which, is there any way to find out which props are now redundant and not used by removed assets?

I've no idea what the forum has done to my post above. Why has it duplicated so much? :???:

EDIT: That building is the Shopping Center from the European Maps. I enabled it through European Buildings Unlocker for non-European biomes.

Very nice snaps.

I'm working on a new city myself, but I don't know if it's snapshop ready.

Could you share your settings for how you get such good pictures? Keep in mind I'm on a tropical map.

It's a temperate map in combination with Natural Color LUT. Other than that: dynamic resolution at 200%, LOD Toggler, Softer Shadows and Ambient Occlusion mods enabled.
The rest is pretty much standard: all I did was tweak the ambient settings (sun horizontal/vertical position, sun/ambient light intensity) a bit with Ultimate Eyecandy.

My first attempt at an urban decay scene.

Juxtaposition of the bright downtown and the ghetto:

I'm going to be improving the detailing later on. This is a case where you don't want the auto bulldoze mod, to have rows of abandoned houses.

I like what you're doing, I'm still trying to work out ways to properly Flint/Detroit-ify some of my districts as well! Perhaps using a bit more ruined ground instead of the grass texture would give it an even more decrepit look?
I wonder if it would be possible to apply the burned or ruined skin to 'healthy', normally functioning buildings, so purely as a visual things. That would make it much easier to create those '$%&^!-hole' neighborhoods we all so desperately want in our towns :D

For starters, definitely don't be afraid to leave big gaps of vacant grass lots between houses. Some of them look fairly regularly mowed, others don't, though I'm not sure I've seen any quite as high as in that picture.

I've been doing some research on Detroit for a future novel, so stuff like that is always fascinating, in a really sad and depressing way.

The burned houses would be really interesting. It would be cool if someone like @Feindbold would create a 'Detroit Collection' of dilapidated homes, homes with the roof caved in, or burned houses like in the picture. The burned and caved in ones would probably work better as parks/uniques, as no one lives in them.

I recommend strictoaster's method, paint something with concrete and leave ruined, gravel spots in it,looks great.
