I should mention that none of these traffic simulators are supported or recommended by the NAM Team, and they will not work properly with RHW and NWM.

Thus use of the word "legacy".

As for changing the maximum distances Sims are permitted to travel to work, this can be done by changing the maximum commute time in the Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool, which can be downloaded with the NAM or the

Hm, I thought that was one of the locked properties. My mistake. :P

Hi, I've installed NAMv30, RHWv5, NWMv2, NAM hotfix package 301 and the Euro texture replacement mod for rhw5 by mrtnrln, and there are a lot of bugs with rhw but I don't know why

The problem is more than obvious: you still have the old RHW Euro texture mod installed, which is incompatible with the new one. Please uninstall the previous RHW Euro Texture Mod and your bugs will be gone.

Only the FARHW-4 diamond interchange pieces not matching up is a known bug, but I'll be revising that for a new version for the next NAM.

Hey.

I have a problem with NAM interfering with Radical Ordinance. (These are the only mods i use, exept of day and nite).

When I use Radical Ordinance I get zero air pollution, but when I add the NAM the ordinance about clean air changes.

So my question is:

Is there any way I can use the NAM and still have the Radical Ordinance which removes air pollution totally? I want no air pollution in my city, but I also want my inhabitants to travel over longer distances to get to work (lower commute time). And I also want to have the useful road and train editions to the game which the NAM gives me.

Pictures related. (norwegian language in game tho)

Radical Ordinance:

With Both Radical Ordinance and NAM:

The water gets polluted as well as the air, but I think ive made my point.

Is there any files I can remove or something to get this ordinance change away?

Sorry if peoples have asked this before. Im obviously too lazy to look for other post with the same problem. Couldn't find anything on google though.

The one you should be having problems with should be the Car Smogging ordinance (Known as 'Automobile Emission Reduction Act' in the game) since that's the only one that the NAM edits (to my knowledge), because the vanilla version doesn't work as specified. You can't remove it because it's packed in the base NAM installation. More information can be found here: http://www.wiki.sc4d...itle=Ordinances

Make sure your Radical Ordinances mod loads after the NAM and everything should work fine.

How to I make Radical Ordinances mod load after the NAM?

I just put the radical ordinance file in the plugin folder where the game is installed. And the NAM I put in documents/SimCity 4/plugins

Does this have anything to do with it?

And I checked again. When I add the NAM the clean air/water/traffic act ordinance changes. No idea why.

Thanks all for the help. It looks like the value that they use for max commute time is already the "max" according to the User Guide (increasing the number above 600 doesn't do anything). I still have abandonment due to commute time but it looks like that is probably because there is simply no job for them. I wanted to be sure it wasn't because of max commute time.

To cause any plugin to load last, rename its folder to include one of more leading Zs.

Don't put any mods or lots in the Program Files list unless specifically instructed. This structure is rewritten if you do a reinstall and any changes are then lost.

Basically, as the name implies, the automata 24h runs the automata all day and all night without slowing down at night.

Ok, but shouldn't the automata in the day go in the opposite way at night? Since in the day the cars are going to work and at night they're going home?

They go home in the afternoon or evening, which is covered by the standard automata settings. The 24h settings refer to the middle of the night, when no one is commuting. (There is no graveyard shift in SC4.)

The automata aren't completely eye candy. There is a rough correlation between the number of automata and the actual traffic on the road, unless you have special mods installed. Also, once a road gets congested, the number of accidents you see is related to the degree of congestion.

Ok, so the standard automata setting will show the evening commute?

You can already build those using hole-diggers and retaining wall lots.

Excuse me,..i got questions for the NAM automata car....

I got a huge metropolis cities in my region with many congested road....BUT, i didn't actually saw the car automata in the congested road area.....the only thing i saw was a few cars run through the road like no traffic jam at all....and still the advisor keep buging me to upgrade the road....

i've already set the game option #of sims & cars to high level....but the automata car was only change a bit (i guess)...

Is something happen with my NAM automata plugins..? Or it's encountered conflict with another plugins..??

Please help, i really wanted to see a congested roads, i mean for real...

It's to do with the game.

The Automata does spawn according to congestion (And there is evidence that some vehicles do have specific destinations they route to), but the way the game is coded and with the default Automata Settings, you'll never, ever see traffic congesting, it'll always appear to flow relatively freely.

You can take a step toward maybe having them by using a Persistent Automata Mod from on the STEX which will make the cars much less likely to despawn, but it can grossly misrepresent the amount of congestion that a road has and highlight some flaws in the game.

Ok, i got it....it might sounds finicky, but....i never got a bunch of car automata like shown in the picture below...no matter how congested my roads and highways....that's why after seeing someone else cities shown in pictures or videos (like in the pic below)....i began to questioned and i was like,..heii...how can my car automata be like that..??? i never seen my roads and highways like that... o.O

well, all i saw was few cars running freely like nothing happen at all, not even close to that picture below.....so i thought i might messed up with my automata plugins or something....but if you're saying that what happen to my city is normal, then there's no problem, i guess,....maybe the problem is me and my curiosity...or maybe you got more explanation to just satisfy my finicky...??

Hi, quick question. I have all these Pedmall tiles

pedmalls.jpg

But shouldn't there be a plain white tile without the centre pole?

No, that's the way it comes. You can remove the street lamp by using the Reader if you want.

Perhaps you're thinking of the plain sidewalk tile that comes with the game.

Maybe its just my game, but sometimes the lamp does not show up with I place ped malls. It will if I place in again on top, which can also lead to the lamp disappearing.

Sounds like an overloaded plugin suite.

Maybe you have the NAM Facelift Mod from http://hide-inoki.co...topic.php?t=806 (The center file on that page.) If you plop a pedmall and then move the mouse away and back over the previously clicked pedmall, it will randomly rotate to a new motif, more information in english can be found here: Paeng's PedMall Project.

Nope, I have very few mods. I just thought it was a glitch with the NAM. I don't mind it though, because it's nice to be able to choose whether to have a lamp or not haha.

Then those might not be pedmalls at all; Those are modified parks.

Are you sure? I was thinking they were modified pedmalls.

Yes. They're either the filler lots from a set on the STEX (I can't find it, but the Pedmall texture does shows up as a Lot texture), or someone legitimately took the time to edit the NAM's files.

Have you noticed any pattern to the missing pole lots. I was thinking you might have used Just a thought, though I'm not sure it behaves the way you originally described.

No, I wasn't using that mod but it's looking pretty good to me.

I have installed NAM (seemed is v7) previously and I install NAM v30 1 week ago.

I have discovered all my traffic jams are gone, which is nice but all my previous commercial zones which CO$$$ buildings are easily grow are now no longer grow. Thus all neighbouring cities cannot grow R$$, R$$$ buildings, what I should do?
