I don't know if this is the right place to post it, as it might not be exactly a "City-Building Concept" but I've found some of my old old SC4 photos and I wanted to know more about how other users way of playing and building their cities evolved.  So... show your SC4 Evolution!

Anyway, let me start with mine. (alert: it is long)

I'll only show here pictures I have posted online. I'll begin with the first one, from June 2011:

December 2011:

August 2012 (first city I still like):

December 2012(first entry in my CJ):

August 2013:

Yes, I'm guilty of barely playing 2014... got really really busy this year... I'll have more free time in 2015. Anyway a picture I posted in best picture competition (December 2014):

Good thread...except I think we need to change the title. "Show us your city progression" would be more suitable.

Well, as far as I understand it, the "before and after" thread refers to one city or even just one spot in one city before and after an overhaul, whereas this thread is dedicated to showing your overall progress as a SimCity player from the first basic cities with bumpy grid roads and clumsy layout to more refined building techniques and a unique style of your own.

The theme is the same (no suburban sprawl, weird lovechild of Haiti/Cuba/Hong Kong/Scandinavia) but the aesthetics have improved a lot imo.

Well, as it says in the description ( :read:  ;) ), the Before/after thread regards any changes you feel pleased with. This could be pretty much anything that regards SimCity 4. Doesn't matter if it's a minor or major change. The single "rule" is two images showing what it looked like before the edit, and how it looks now.

I think this thread is different, too. It's similar, but this is much more inclusive. We get to see how cities grow as a whole rather than tiny changes to improve a small part of it. You could almost say it's a bit more epic.

As I understand it, this topic is more about how you used to play the game and how your skills evolved thru time. I like the idea very much! ;) Unfortunately, I can't really upload anything from the past 11 year or so, because... gone are those days (and their related hard-drives! :) )

BTW: look at that bridge in the first pic!!! LOL!!! :D

Enjoy! ;)

TBH, I've seen worse bridges. At least the slopes are smooth (because they're part of the model). Of course such a tall, thin bridge looks odd. But I think it's better than my early bridges with their abrupt "jump style" 45° ramps, for example.

Here's an evolution or progression of my SimCity 4 techniques, from my really $%&^! beginnings, to my latest pics :) Mind the poor .gif quality, don't have access to Imageready, so I have to use this really terrible gif maker.

So enjoy this gif :P
