Ah, gotta love those classic Cunard liners... could it be that the smokestacks on Queen Mary are tilted a bit too far backwards? I think they could also be a tad thicker. Pity those air vents can't be properly rounded due to the polygon limit. :(

That perspective camera probably makes them look more tilted than they actually are.

The perspective in Milkshape is a little weird, but in the game it doesn't look as bad.

Here's an early screenshot showing the scaling vs. Titanic-

Texturing can be a huge pain, but in the end it can be well worth the effort if done right. Here's a sample of a wing texture which is used on the Sonic Cruiser. I plan to add a set of escape arrows like those painted on most Boeing jets. The texture on the left is the left wing texture and the one on the right will be right wing texture, though it will have to be mirrored.

    Thank you, JP!

I know I have been focused on the Sonic Cruiser and other projects that I have been sidetracked on, but the 707's are complete. However, I am hitting a snag that's keeping me from uploading and that is I want to lot each plane but have problems every step of the way. I've tried everywhere else on the internet for a tutorial but couldn't find one.

I would be more than willing to start a collaboration with someone who can create an RMIP lot. In exchange, I will send a copy of the 707 props as well as the Sonic Cruiser once it too is finished.

While the 707's are undergoing conversion into proper SCAG lots (with the help of Mike_Oxlong, whom I owe another huge thanks), the last updates will be posted in a little while. In the meantime however, I have some custom icons created for each lot, which will be standard jetways.

    Lufthansa-

    Pan American-

    Saha Airlines-

    And Singapore-

In a little bit of good news, the Sonic Cruiser is getting closer to becoming a completed model (apart from the grueling effort of texturing airline colors onto the jet). The wings have been fully textured, making them the 5th component finished. Now all that's left is making the textures for the engines and fuselage. But in the mean time, here's how both the wings look.

This was the only Boeing that was not made into a formal prop. And then in the future the Sonic Cruiser will be made into another set of SCAG-style aircraft.

Great work on this one.I`m afraid sooner or later i really have to construct a real modular airport on my region :boggle: ...or i might just procrastinate this task a little longer..

If you're considering making a terminal which includes Pan American or TWA, these would be perfect. Those airlines are also included in the 727's Mike_Oxlong lotted for me.

For the sake of simplicity, I decided to leave them as jetways. But you're more than welcome to use the props for your own projects! I'd love to see what you'll do for the props :D

though I might have to sacrifice a lifeboat or two.

You don't need to worry about lifeboats that much.  Consider the source material (sadly)...they certainly didn't care that much for them IRL either....

Ah, but the Queen Mary was launched over 20 years after Titanic, well after they regulated that ships must carry enough lifeboats for everyone on board. Plus I am trying to make the model as close to the real ship as possible.

I recently read that Titanic did have enough life boats on board; it is just that the entire rescue procedure was so rushed and chaotic allegedly that the capacity of the life boats was not even remotely utilised. Anyway, I guess sacrificing a life boat or two on QM won't matter too much. It's a very large and complex model, so it'll be difficult enough to get it to work as an automaton at all.  :lost:

I think it was a mix of errors that led to so many people perishing with the ship. The officers were lowering the boats only half full for one, also before the incident the number of boats was determined based on the gross tonnage of the ship and at the time, Titanic had the legal requirement. Supposing the ship still didn't have enough, there was still room on the deck for more as evidenced by her sister the Olympic. Hmm, all this talk about Titanic is making me wonder if I can improve on the model yet again..

Now with the 707 out of the way, I have room for a few smaller projects. This is one of the easier ones I am knocking out-

This is the Pagani Huayra, and this was a request from BossDragon. Top Gear did a review on the car to showcase what this $2 million+ car is capable of:

Making headway with the Queen Mary 2. Don't worry about the plain gray forecastle, it's supposed to be like that. And the raised forecastle will be textured soon.

I have a few other requests on the line at this time, so I cannot take it yet. Although the Pagani is almost finished and the Sonic Cruiser is still in progress and more updated on both projects will be posted soon.

Actually,i like the ship much better than that $2 million piece of soap. The BAT itself is pretty fine, but the real car is butt ugly.

Nonetheless great work with those textures. It`s a great and tricky idea you can actually see the interior of the car through the windshield (well,it`s more like a superfast greenhouse...).

The Queen Mary 2, as well as most of the ship models I have made are complex because there are so many additional features and weird angles. The good news is the Queen Mary 2 isn't as complicated as her predecessor and so far has a much lower poly count. I even had some room to spare for these features that were added last night-

Aw, I like the Huayra :(. But, to each their own I suppose.

    Thank you again, Airman.

Personally, I am more supportive of American cars like the Mustang, GT, Camaro, Challenger, etc. But for the more pricey cars, i'm a little curious about the Tesla P85D, rumored 691 horsepower with a 3.2 second 0-60 time.

That's understandable. I like pretty much all types of cars. American, Italian, German, British, Japanese, etc.

I'm fine with Pagani brand cars myself (not that I'd ever own one in a billion years :P ), but I personally think the Zonda is better looking than the Huayra... and even then I think Lamborghini cars look better.

That aside, the QM2 is looking great!

Even if you're not necessarily a fan of the car itself, there's even a little something in it for Transformers fans as well! This is a Pagani dressed like Stinger, unfortunately he will always be a robot in disguise in SimCity.

I'm excited to get the QM2 closer to completion! Hopefully once I can at least patch up the top decks I could get to in-game testing!
