jeronij, though your new bridge is impressive, I don't think it has the right feel for a double-decker bridge. Besides just looking odd, I think the design would call for solid concrete (or whatever) in the flare of the pylons, which would preclude running trains through there.

i agree, i think that only a modern bridge would support both rail and road, or other combined transport methods, unless you are talking about the brooklyn bridge, and early 20th century manhatten style bridges. I would personally prefer a modern suspension bridge, otherwise its going to look a bit rediculous im afraid.

Wow, that bridge looks stunning. The top bridge in the pic looks very nice and adds a style which we haven't seen in simcity before! They will be very handy for making small bridges, as that has been something missing from simcity for a while, good looking small bridges.

I look forward to using these, will these be on the STEX or will they appear in the NAM? Cheers, choco. 9.gif

Er.. that hasn't been decided yet. It will have to be part of a centralized mod like the NAM. However, bridge modds could be seperated from the NAM.

Street and one-way bridges should be seperate from the NAM anyway, as they fill a hole in the game. The rest of the NAM just adds additional stuff, which the downloader might not want.

Here is my 2 cents:

-The bridges are looking awsome but not as close as original SC's bridges. Maybe it was possibl to make more realistic textures.
-Maybe the bridge addon could come with NAM as a separate plugin like ANT used to come. Optional for the users of NAM and for others that don't use it. Other than that maybe a bridge pack could also be released separately although it's hard to find someone that doesn't use NAM!1.gif

Awesome! SC4 needed street bridges, and they are perfect!

Is this going to be like the existing bridge system, where you choose height and type, or a seperate transit typre?

SHADOW09, it is possible to do (place the rail between road lanes) it but it would require an additional puzzle piece and unless the bridge was 2 tiles wide there would be no space for pedestrians.  I am reluctant to add too many puzzle pieces for special bridges.

Ardecila, I think that the new bridges will have to be part of the NAM.   They could be an optional part.

Gmavignier, if the bridges were in a separate mod, that mod would have to be placed in the plugin folder so that it supersedes part of the NAM, and the mod would only work for one version of the NAM.

Eskiman, the new bridges are added to the list of bridge choices that pop up when you are creating a bridge.  You just choose a new bridge instead of a Maxis bridge; the process is the same.

jeronij, your new version is a great improvement.

Jeronij, how about road or ped only version of that great street bridge?

My idea is a rail/ ped bridge, just mod and stick walkway on standard rail bridge and hey presto!

    Looking good jeronij!

I see that BAT night lighting does work.

I agree that the Maxis street lights should be removed.  If you send me the bridge pieces (I need the coordinates of the tops of the poles), I could make the light poles light up like Maxis light poles.

Has this changed into a bridge creation thread instead of the amazing double deck bridge experiment??? I love the new bridges, but would much more like to see the double deck bridge experiment worked on some more to the point of completion. That thing is amazing!!!
