I can't access the IP-based address to get to the RHW site. Is there a 'www.~' type address to access it at?

quote>

Well, since I finally had some free time tonight to figure out damn ISS... why I ever used Windows for a server instead of Linux, I dunno... [/rant]

The new address for the RHW website is http://rhwmod.no-ip.info/ .

I have also now included the Finnish mirror that Zeddic has supplied. This should fix a few problems that people have been having.

EDIT:
Well, it seems for some this new domain-name doesn't work... there is a rough road ahead...
At any rate, the new mirror at least works 1.gif

I must say I have had no major problems with the RHW, however, I have noticed a small bug. I have the left hand drive version of the game, and when a train goes over the RHW rail crossing, it swiches to the right hand track, and back again after the crossing.

I also have a question. The RHW button in the menu has a grey one like the one we have, and also pictures a black one. What is that for? Is it something that was removed from the mod? 42.gif

Why does one drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Why is delivery by boat called a cargo and one by land called a shipment?

No, that is for the 2-Lane ANT Texture Mod / (Various other names...). It was intended to be an optional part of the mod, but in the rush of release did not get included into version 0.12. It is, however, available separately. I'm not quite sure if it is still being worked on...lakeyboy, if you're there, can you answer this? I'm curious myself.

Yeah i'm here! 3.gif I gave the latest textures, the diagonal ones to 1dera3 to enhance and modify but he hasn't gotten back to me with them so if you're there 1dera3, can you please give me an update on them please. Thanks. If they won't be ready for quite some time, I'll put the unenhanced textures into the game and release another version of the mod.

I have a problem with the download as well. I've downloaded it a few times, and now I have four ANT options in my highway menu with no rural highway, anyone know the reason?

*beep beep! beep beep!* Hey, look, here I am. Man have I been busy. School project involving Legos. Lots of Legos. 3.gif With the robot, too. 3.gif

Anyway, I do not yet have those textures out because I stink with Alpha maps. Which is transparent - white or black? And to be honest, I haven't worked on those textures on over... let's see... about 7 or 8 weeks, at least. 34.gif I'll get back to on that. 23.gif

And lakeyboy, what the heck is the 2-lane highway actually named? Or is it just 2-lane Hwy. ANT Texture Mod? 3.gif

qurlix, remember that PM I sent you about the website change? I have somewhere around 30 MB of space left on my site, so you can move it if you want. Just sayin'. 41.gif

    And on that note, 40.gif//1D3

EDIT: lakeyboy, how soon do you want those textures, because I can give you either a DAT with them or just the individual textures in single DATs, or even the bitmaps & alphas. PM me wen you've made your decision.
EXTRA EDIT: We really should move this to the main RHW thread, shouldn't we? I mean, out little discussion about textures, not the error testing.

I think I can grant you guys a pardon for your off-topic-ness, I'm pretty sure it was my fault in the first place.3.gif

cee_em_bee: Yes. But there is only one done so far, and it's a stupid rip-off of an existing avenue interchange.

Avi: The RHW mod has to load after the NAM. (If you are not familiar with the loading order of SC4, it loads plugins and folders alphabetically.) If you put it in the exact same folder as the NAM, you should be fine. Also, to get more than two icons you must have more than one copy of the RHW installed. Having more than one in your plugins folder could (theoretically) significantly slow down your game.

If that doesn't fix your problem, the ANT is simply exacting its revenge for all of us trying to replace it. Seriously though, if that doesn't work, I'm not quite sure what the problem is. With any luck, version 0.15 is going to be a bit more stable (the multiple-icon problems will definitely be gone).

1dera3: Black is transparent, white is visible. Write it on the back of your hand like I do.

I guess your name kind of depends on who you are...I mean are you an independent group or part of the RHW? Yeah, we have conjoined releases, but does that make us the same team?

As for the site, I forgot to ask noone. It's really up to him as webmaster. Then again, it's up to me whether to accept the RHW into the coalition or not. 3.gif (Hmmm, with this kind of power, I suppose I could blackmail myself!)

Come to think of it, all the HDC (and NAM) issues really need to be settled before we make any other decisions...

Decision-making time...awww, man. (a la Swiper, as in Swiper, no swiping!)

In one of my cities, a four-lane rural highway has less capacity than an avenue. Therefore, could the capacity be adjusted in a future version?

Also, could the speeds also be increased to be the same as the regular highways, or at least faster than the avenues?

joeynymets: Oops. Sorry! Anyway, I have no idea on that one... ask qurlix for more on that... I would guess it's just the paths used on the roadway, and, who uses UDI anyway? 3.gifSorry, that was kind mean... But you'd better ask anyone other than me. I'm just texture touch-up man. 5.gif

Didn't some say that some people had problems with UDI on rural highways? I tested out the UDI and there's no problems with it at all - it doesn't kick me out or anything.

@Schmicky Every single installer program should ask you where to install. So check where it's putting your chosen NAM files, and there it is. Just open the folder and the view should be extremely similar to what it was like before. But you said RHW doesn't work even though it loads after NAM... That's strange. I guess you could try reinstalling NAM. Apparently it helped 1dera, so maybe you, too. It's worth trying and be sure to read all installation instructions.

I don't know if my problem is already answered, but I must ask. I am not able to build overpasses over the RHW. There is no puzzle piece for that. I ask this, becuse I've seen some screenshots of existing passes over RHW. What should I do to solve this problem?

bokrif, the only overpass currently avalible is the road overpass. Look in road overpass puzzle pieces to find it (last one i think)

LivingInThePast, just draw the RHW ANT or a street between two sections of the RHW and a one way turnaround will appear.

I'm having a similar problem like Avi, but the file isnt replicated like that

    ---

the tutorial hasn't helped me at all

I've downloaded the plug in and put it in the same folder as the nam

none of the files were renamed, so how come nothing is working?

ant road isn't morphing into the rhw if thats what it should do...

    ---

I've re downloaded the rhw and the nam multiple times to see if it would work for once, but nothing has come up to solve the problem.

    Hmm try this

Make sure you download the latest version (if you don't its in my signiture). Put it into MY DOCUMENTS in the NAM folder. You can put a ZZZ in front of the name to make sure it loads in game after the NAM. To make sure it lays out, try dragging two long sections of the ANT parallel and right next to eachother. With thses steps taken you should see the RHW in-game.

If all else fails, try deleting all the pervious RHW files on your hard drive and download it again so you only have one copy. Having multiple copies of the RHW might have messed you up right there. Thats my advice, anyway.

    Hope this helps fishstix001!

well, it seems that I've found the problem, it wasn't saved in within the simcity 4 folder in "my documents."

Another question, is there anyway I can attach on-ramp/off-ramps to this w/o the use of maxis highway to attach an onramp? Or is it impossible to do this?

I've already found "a" puzzle piece road over RHW, which is perfect for my fly-over roads

No, ramps are not avalible at the moment. The only intersection that works is a 90 degree street intersection, which could be used for "temporary" ramps.

However, there has been significant progress on ramps for the RHW. Go to the RHW project in this thread or via my signiture to check it out!

I got a problem with slope mods. It seems when I have RHW in my plugins folder, the slope mod doesn't function, but only for the RHW.

    Heres a missing texture:

    The image

Interesting enough, only cars in the right lane can cross under this. Thats why it works for the 2 lane RHW, but the white line doesnt match up well with its yellow line.  Also the textures are a little darker, but looks like this for other underpasses such as elevated highway/rail.  Just wanted to point it out.

@bokrif:  Are you trying to make tunnels?  Unfortunately, the RHW network (same with the ANT network) is not set up for tunnels, so the slope mod will have no effect . . . at least until the tunnels are working.

@haljackey:  That is an alternate texture that is in the RHW mod, and as far as I know, the El-Rail/RHW and Rail/RHW puzzle pieces are the only use of it in the entire mod file.  The Road/RHW puzzle piece uses the standard texture.

My guess as to why only the right lane works is because the puzzle piece wasn't rotated, so the path on one side suddenly reverses at the point of the puzzle piece.  So, for the four pieces there, the one that is working correctly will directionally be going >>>> (each > marking a tile).  The other side should be going <<<<, but instead is going <>>< (if that makes any sense).

If you have the ExtraCheats.dll file that Buggi put up on the General Discussion board, you should actually be able to see what's going on with the "DrawPaths" cheat.  Without that, it is impossible to tell when it actually is/isn't rotated because of the dual white lines.  It shouldn't be too hard to replace that texture with the normal ground RHW texture so it's easier to tell (and the striping will line up), so I may have an update for it in the very near future.

    -Tarkus

Edit:  I didn't know (because I've actually never tried to cross an El-Rail over the RHW) that it is actually a draggable junction, so disregard the crossed out stuff . . . I thought it could be fixed with just a texture, but apparently, the whole model is going to have to be rotated in the Reader as well.

@deathtodora:  I've looked over your other post as well . . . I know a lot of people talk about putting a "Z" in front of the filename, but I actually placed mine right in the NetworkAddonMod folder inside the Plug-Ins directory without renaming, and it loads perfectly fine after the NAM files.  Try that, and if you're still having problems, let me know . . . I'll do my best to figure out what's going wrong.

my main glitch about this mod is that it doesn't show up on the transportation map which makes it kind of pointless if you can't see it on the map. But i like the idea.
