  1. Australian Cities

I prefer Sydney's culture to be honest. I won't say its better or worse, but I always felt more at home, even as a 5th Generation Irish Aussie, in Sydney's middle eastern/meditarranean community as well as the local Pacific Islanders and Indigenous. Not so much Northern Suburbians though.
  2. Marrast Diagonal Rail Stations

This lot totally changed the modification landscapes on this site, especially when it came to transit. Thank god it's back!
  3. Akaroa

Bloody excellent. One of the most stunning places in the world.
  4. Derby Fairview

MANNING - The final installment This is Green Bay/Bluff popululation approx. 3500, they are twin towns on the bottom of Lake Mangere. This is Bluff, a small farming village on the fringe of Manning, It's very famous all around Derby Fairview for it's apples. This is north Bluff. Here you can see the famous Bluff apple farm. The Fairview Ring Road is also in it's infancy stages of duplication here. Green Bay is virtually connected to the bottom of Bluff but is considered a seperate suburb.
  5. Wassup Colligan. Do you believe that the roads capacity at 2x2 for the most part is not enough? This road is expected to carry 160,000 cars a day.
  6. Derby Fairview

BUSSELTON Busselton is a small town of about 4,500 just north of Manning town centre on the mouth of the Sentinale River. It's infamous for it's large industrial estate witch is about 150 metres away from the Sentinale River. It is also the biggest job provider in Manning offering about 3,500 jobs. It is also the place where The Fairview Ring Road and Janson Road intersect. This is the part of town where most people reside. This is the much more exclusive eastside. Alot of the Upper Management families tend to live here.
  7. Derby Fairview

Thanks for the comments people. Let's this move this along ay. I'll start off by introducing the different area's of the city. This is manning, Just above Mt. Janson and about 8km north of Derby city. It's major roads include the Fairview Ring Road and Jansons Rd. It's industries include agriculture (apple growing predominately) and medium to heavy industry. Most of it's population commutes to Mt. Janson, Derby and Guildford MANNING TOWN This is the largest concentration of population in the Manning Shire. Approx 12,500 live here, Besides the 2,500 odd commercial and civic jobs in the city there are no other employment oppurtunity inside the town so most commute to Mt. Janson or Derby. This would be the manning town centre. It has all the necessities the a medium sized suburban town would need. Some more miscellaneous pictures of the town.
  8. Derby Fairview

Welcome to the Derby Fairview region, approximately 300,000 people live in this region. Edited. Please keep pics within 800x600 resolution. original pic can be found here -T
  9. Show Us Your Suburbs

Actually the downtown is quite big, it just looks a bit deceptive from the region view, I'll start a city journal for it and you can check it out for yourself.
  10. Show Us Your Suburbs

It's quite hard making winding roads in SC, considering there is only 2 angles to lay them on. I think my region captures the essence of a nAustralian style metro area.

Date: 12/26/2005 1:22:18 AM Author: Bodom ok some recomendations.. 1) make a landfill, that attracts comercial 2) NEVER let dirt industries build in ur city... I always put the highest tax rate for that they dont construct. but its residential part its very good, well donequote> Thanks for the advice mate, but I'm building my suburbs on the regional Australian model where dirty industry is often very close to residential developments. The garbage is very annoying though, I tried to to dump all my regions waste in one landfill and it worked for a while but is starting to get out of hand. I hate having to zone landfills in every little town, is there a mod that reduces garbage or something?
  12. Show Us Your Suburbs

This is Sherwood in my Derby/Fairview region, It's situated about 15km north-west to the City. This is Melbourne located North-west to the city on the Fairview Ring Road This is Sherwyn just south of the city where King Georges Rd. interects with The Fairview Ring Rd.
  13. SFBT Highway Bridge Construction Set by Spocky

Very impressive. You should use the methods you used to make these for Freeway intersections.
  14. RHW - Questions, Errors, and Testing

Are there any interchanges coming out?
  15. NAM: Requests

I like the idea with the 2 way exits from highways. Also I'd like to see a puzzle piece for roads and avenues that act as an underpass intersection, I've been trying to build limited access cross town expressways. Mayby 1 way/1 lane off ramps could do the trick?
