Okay simcity is offline now, what's the deal...why can't you increase the city size? I was waiting for 2 days and nothing. Where are the building mods? where are the resource mods? where is the population mods? Or do you people just not give a crap because EA and Maxis ruined a good name franchize of simcity?

There have been a few mods released already but without the proper tools, it takes a long time to make mods. Bigger maps might take months. Try the mod to build outside city limits.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Sorry to be mean but this post ticked me off:

I'm working on a mod right now. You can't expect people to just go ahead and start making and posting mods all of the sudden. It takes dedication, time, work, and effort to create one. The mod I'm working on right now? I thought it'd take a couple days, but it's taken over a week now. Just be patient.

To put this in perspective, it took years of research & development for advanced mods like the NAM to be released for SimCity 4.

It's understandable that people are frustrated by no official solution to the map sizes in SC13. But seriously, 2 days is a very small timeframe. Ignoring the technical implications, it isn't known whether it's possible to increase the map sizes, or even remove the gaps between cities. If buried in the code, it may not be possible to access. All this takes time for modders to learn, assess and understand what can be changed. There isn't a handbook, so trial & error is needed.

Let's not forget, in just short of a year, there have already been some major breakthroughs in the SC13 custom content scene. Such as Oppie developing the PakTool and the first true custom building model. All this without any official modding tools whatsoever.

Give people chance, Rome wasn't built in a day. I certainly wouldn't give up hope in the space of 48 hours. Supporting the modders ought to be more productive. Why not get behind them and encourage, instead of demanding a solution?

I'm going to close this.
