To data7: Mr. Fairburg does not like long commutes and traffic so avenues were the way to go.

Going Back 18 Years

Mr. Fairburg and Mr. Jebson

 

"Mr. Jebson," Larson Fairburg, new mayor of the city of Latursa, said in a pleading voice. "Please."

 

"No," Mr. Jebson said again. It had been back and forth between the two for almost twenty minutes with Larson begging and Mr. Jebson declining.

 

The two men sat in Mr. Jebson's office, which was located in Latursa.

It was an older building but had many high qualities including updated facilities, a lot of square footage, and an appealing and...... oddly "magnetic" feel to it.

 

"Please," Larson pleaded. Mr. Jebson glared at him. He was beginning to get irritated.

 

"Enough!" Mr. Jebson shouted at Larson. "I have had it with this nonsense!" Mr. Jebson then rose from his chair and stormed out of the room in which Larson and him had been talking in, slamming the door behind him.

Days After the Conversation Between Mr. Jebson and Mr. Fairburg

Mr. Fairburg sits in his home office (in Latursa) with his wife.

 

"He can't do that!" Mrs. Fairburg exclaimed after hearing the unfortunate news from her husband.

 

"Sure he can," Mr. Fairburg replied, not bothering to give his wife a glance. "I may be mayor, but he's Letaysa's President. Therefore, he has the right to decline any deal or bill submitted by any mayor or member of Congress."

 

"But has he not considered the turmoil that will surely rise when Latursa's citizens hear the news of his decision?" Mrs. Fairburg questioned.

 

"What's new?" Mr. Fairburg responded harshly, now looking at his wife. "Sure, there'll be anarchy here, but he doesn't care. If our children don't receive the education they need, it doesn't matter, and at this rate it never will."

 

"But he doesn't have the authority!" Mrs. Fairburg cried out in desperation and anger. "How can he do this without violating the Codes of Conduct?"

 

Mr. Fairburg continued to stare at his wife. His eyes soon changed from ones of fury to ones of defeat. He sank himself lower in his chair and said, "It's what I've been saying for months. The Codes of Conduct are not nearly strong enough. They can't hold someone back from tearing this country apart with one wave of the hand." Mr. Fairburg paused and glanced outside the office window, and then continued. "The only way we can enforce a strong set of limitations against the President is by getting someone else in power, but the next election isn't coming around for almost fifteen years. And we would have to either get myself or someone who has the same line of thought elected." Mrs. Fairburg took the information she had heard millions of times before but had never really considered in. She then rushed out of her husband's office, again admitting defeat to Letaysa's tyrant.

Nice updates!   Have you considered the United SimNations?  Jmsepe's TEIKO is initiating some collaborated across CJs efforts to have mayors and officials begin great city relationships!  hes invited Peyton officials to Teiko this week!

 

I think our friend with the Emerald Basin CJ who is currently enroute to  Hawaii (in real life), has an Interstate 20 project going and seeing if he can get as many cjs to pick up where the last cj left off running the I-20 through as many cjs as possible . thus a pseudo-sc4-multiplayer effect.

 

Letaysa would be a great contribution to both causes!  Nothing special or time consuming, just that your listed as part of the collaboration  federation!
