I second this. I had 2 McDonalds in my city know just one and no Burger King yet. Would like to see more available but for them to be built have to get approved from Planning and Zoning. Also in Simcity the latest version Zoning Land like for Pad Sites,Shopping Centers and so on.

All your stuff is American, there should be more diversity, a great chunk of simcity players are outside the us, and the game is allready too America centred with it's ridiculously low taxes, it's lack of enviromental taxes, and the low return on ecology and so much more.

 

Maybe add some stores and fast food restaurants and real restaurants like:

 

Media markt

Fnac

Delhaize (I think it's called food lion across the pond)

Quick

Panos

etc..

 

Add maybe some Hermès stores for the rich (a purse at Hermès can cost around 3.000€ which is 3.000+ us dollars).

 

I'd also would love to see beach and club based tourism like on the Spanish Costa's and the Greek, Turkish, etc... beaches. they are quite important for those countries.

 

I'd also love to see shopping attraction parks, that have the amusement park feel and look but instead of rides it filled with designer stores. (There's one not very far from me, it has Mcgreggor, MK, Armani, Hugo Boss, Hacket, Gaastra etc... It attracts lots of people, there are even busses bringing tourists

I believe the reason you do not see a burger king, is that file and the mcdonalds one covers the same building. Which means you can only have one or the other. Though if you can have both show up, and someone prove it then I will download the Burger king. As far as I know if you make places they have to cover up a different building file, and so far what I have gathered the two Oppie made came off the same building file, from the suggestion of those who like McDonalds versus those who would rather have Burger King. I hope this explains Mg why you may not see both places in the cities.

Then just rename Burger King to something else because name in file is different then McDonalds. In City Life Platinum in game Custom Content has it's own area in game and Buildings and so on don't have to replace a existing Building so shouldn't have to in this game,yes I have that Game to but can't play it because it doesn't like Intel HD Graphics Card and Simcity4 has lots of real Commercial Buildings made but don't work in this or latest version.

Also we can add other types of Roads without replacing a existing one so same with like if we build a different kind of like a Middle School or different Police Station it should show up in that area in game so we others to choose from from to add to our cities.

Some of the buildings do not even have files that we can make heads or tails out of, all you get is a green,blue,line for the file. So basically what I am saying is until you can figure out all the components to the building its not possible, and just over writing a file does not work at current moment that I am aware of because you are unfortunately having to use a per-designed mesh that has already been coded.

I agree that the buildings are more complicated than simply importing a mesh and your texture. You need to make your materials in the format/structure that the game uses. Don't know if you've seen it, but I'm working on a tutorial series explaining the game's material sets how custom buildings work, and I'm working on a tutorial to explain how the color palette works.

I did not see any text, or words, or letters. I saw one, big, lawsuit. "Big" wouldn't even be a start to how bad that could become. There is a reason they don't use things like that. COPYRIGHTS. That would be such a big lawsuit that maxis may have to shut down simcity to pay off the criminal charges, and the modder himself may have to do jail time!!!

Simcity4 has lots of Commercial Buildings like that were mentioned but can't be used in this version and they aren't making the buildings we are.

If we could when select Commercial Zoning pick what type would go on their so let's say it's off an Exit we might pick Hotel,Gas,Food,Grocery Store meaning an Office or other type Commercial can't go on that piece of Land for Sale or Lease and the sign might sale zoned for Gas Station.

Media Markt was actually released by Maxis as an official DLC. I don't know if it is still available, but it was available to anyone in Germany. People outside of Germany could also get it by using a vpn/webproxy to give you a German IP address and then going to the origin store, either in a web browser or in Origin itself.

 

There are a total of 5 of these European DLCs: Media Markt, Telia, Play, Micromania and Metro. They were all free. More info here. And info on how to get them here. (Please note I don't know if they are still available) It's not very difficult to use a vpn/proxy but I don't recommend it unless you know what you are doing.

 

The files for these DLCs are in everyone's ecogame folder. It might be possible for modders to make them available to everyone regardless of which country you are in.

Thanks and I will download the burger king one then to see if it works. I had assumed they were on the same mesh and files when they were created, that was due to me not breaking down the files to see. Kind of nice to know that you can have both

Now in the Picture of Burger King it showed about building in back of it has that building been made.

If we could Edit the ones that come with Game then we could change like the Gas Station into real ones.

Also if we could have McDonalds,Burger King pop all over our cities and I don't mean McDonalds next to another McDonalds because I've had that and one didn't stay..

Maybe under Attraction when you make them then we could put them any where and make it Free like Churches are.

Also theirs a Chicken place that looks like KFC just have to Edit it some.

In general Simcity4 and City Life Platinum are better at the moment and all buildings should be free.

Simcity Social, as bad and s-wordy as it was, did have a Dunkin Donuts mission, with your very own Dunkin Donuts shop.
I could see maybe some fast food chains that people outside the US are aware of, like KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and maybe even Wendy's and Taco Bell. Heck, Cityville even had missions sponsored by both Wendy's AND Mcdonald's! In the same game lol!

Just look at Minecraft! A Putt-Putt company sued MINECRAFT because ONE builder made a putt putt course with the company's name... I highly doubt that the company won though...
