Hey Ya'll,
Could anyone/ how could i turn a building that is from, lets say the Landmark Menu into the city hall. Like give the landmark building the same stats as a city hall so i can use it as the city hall in my city because the one in game is very ugly. I am thinking about staring a CJ with a city i've worked very hard on and i want everying to look just right. I have no moding ability/ experience, so if someone could do it for me that'd be great. Thanks.

Id like to make a request on a new highway system other than the clover leaf, I found this interesting highway system off a satellite image view of Des Moines, IA. Thought it'd be usefull for lots of users on here, its attached on this message, im sure everyone will like it. 1.gif

Requesting a mod that would keep transit labels from disappearing when nearby transit systems are modified.

I am going to be starting work on some new road tiles for the Sim Mars project and as we no longer have a working mod team I would like to request some help implimenting the tiles for the road systems. I don't quite understand how to do this at this time.

Transportation networks beginning work on
 
Avenues and Black top roads. Sarg started the roads and I am not quite that happy with the back roads to dark and hard to see the details. So I am going to redo them.. Avenues have not been done yet so I am going to start them.

I would love to have a transportation map mod that follows the Google Maps style. Basically:

Roads/Streets = white
Avenues = yellow
Highways = orange
Ferries = dashed navy-blue line
Rail = traditional double track lines... is there any way to match this in SimCity?
 
It doesn't use specific colors for mass transit, so maybe those could just stay the same as in the original maps.
 
Also nice would be...
Parks = light green
Educational buildings, hospitals, landmarks = dark grey
 
Here's an example from San Francisco:
 
The background colors used are grey for the urbanized areas, and a paler grey for everything that isn't developed yet. You can see an example of this here:

    I want to request a pretty big mod involving highways. I believe this might go with NAM but oh well. I suposse you have noticed that all freeways have shoulders on the sides and use a white line to show the right boundery and a yellow line for the left boundery. It would be really nice if someone made such a mod, even if the freeway would have to be 3 tiles wide. It would make all our city's look more realistic. It would be even better if you can make a 2 lane freeway with this same concept. It would have an open space in the middle too so that would be 3 tiles wide ( in addition to the 3 lane).

I have an idea...Transit-Enabled Parks for pedestrians only. It would be quite effective if you wanted to build a museum in the middle of a park and not needing a road to access it. I dunno if this has already been done but I haven't found anything so...

raul39: Not to promote a mod that I worked on, but you should really check out the RHW. (first my tutorial, now this; I'm seeing a pattern in my responses 2.gif) It seems to be exactly what you're looking for. Visit the Rural HighWay Project Homepage or the Rural Highway Thread .

Patience: Ok, I couldn't do the municipal building aspect, get rail to be double track, or apply varying background colors, but I did everything else, even the green parks. I need to fix the UI, though, and test extensively. Give me a day or two.

MrVegetable: I wonder it if it would be better to accomplish this through park-like pedmalls or busstop-like parks? I'll ponder it. Added to the NAM request list.

I do not have a lot of time to play, and when I do it seems disasters keep coming up and wrecking my work, or I spend all my time fixing what disasters have done. Is there a no disaster mod??

I remember a while back reading about the new "theme changer" item, that would allow you to use different themes for different cities without worrying about bat dependencies.... or something like that... I was wondering if it would be possible to make a medieval theme. I know that there are already a few castles and castle ruins bats floating around out there, but what about the rest? How about having horses and horse-drawn carriages and carts instead of cars, stone buildings of only a few stories instead of massive, modern skyscrapers? Soldiers instead of "police men", wells instead of water towers, and torchlight instead of power plants? I think it would also be quite interesting to make a mod capable of inciting a plague.. any thoughts?

I was jsut wondering if there was any way to mod how roads work in the game. You know cause everytime you connect a road to another it becomes a stoplight or stopsign. I was just wondering if there is a way. Because the traffic is horrendous in some of my cities, and the game would go more smoothly if this could be modded.

can someone please make there be croncrete textures under monorails, i get relly annoyed have green grass under the pilons in realy poulated cities.

someone please make a modd that makes earthquakes righs and lower the land or a modd that can make a volcaneo blow up more than ones and a modd that makes a tree plop $ just like the trees in the mayer mode ok.2.gif

I don't know if its possible but can anyone make a modd or something which splits up the menu's?
because it takes forever to get to the bottom of my menus especially the parks menu.

Sorry that is not possible. It has been requested. There have been a lot of different suggestion on how to solve this, but I think it way to much work to impliment them.

Would someone mind making a modd that would change the streets to asphalt, rather than cement? A shade about the same as the roads would do well.

Hello you guyz.
Can anyone make a "Palm Avenue Middle(use ingame palm)" mod???
                  -i was mad about this, i hope the ingame avenue middle trees become useless crap and i could throw them into my recycle bin.

Forgive me if this has already been requested or is not possible...

I would like a mod that makes the rewards menu behave like all the other menus - in other words, to open to the last item selected, rather than starting off from the top of the menu every time.

I'm getting frustrated scrolling through the entire menu every time I want to try plopping something...

Maybe this already exists and I've just missed it? Thanks.

Can someone make a modd that only allows suburben like housing ( single family homes ). When I try to build suburbs in large cities, the game wont let me. It wants pure apartments.

Use the low density residential zoning. That came with the game.

Same works with commercial.

Low density=Small buildings, least expensive

Medium density=midrises

High density=skyscrapers, most expensive
