I have had NAM installed for few years now and I'm getting tired of the transportation view. I want to download another Regional Transportation View MOD but when I try. It doesn't do anything. Is there a way to get rid of NAM's Region Transportation View. I don't like how the Highway or Avenues look in particular. Please help! I really appreciate it!

Yes, there is a way. Install NAM again, but in custom installation UNCHECK NAM's Regional Transport View. That should do the trick.

As a quick first try you could put your new mod into a subfolder of your plugin folder with a name starting with zzzzz... so it does load last.

I do not think to remember that you could deselect a region trans. view during the installation of NAM, and I do not know the corresponding file name. So if do want to keep NAM, try the zzzzz... first, maybe it works. :)

The Region Transport View in the latest NAM is something you have to explicitly select from the Custom Installation Options.  The reason we include one at all is because the default view--as well as every single custom region transport view plugin on the STEX-- is incapable of showing RealHighway (RHW) systems.

It's there, it's in the last major section, and it's not selected by default.  It's called "Real Highway Regional Transport View".  Unchecking this option is much better than messing around with folder loading order.

And how exactly would one re-install the new NAM? Delete that zzzzz-folder or just download it again and do a simpel install without deleting anything?

Delete the zzzzz folder, run the NAM installer selecting the Custom Installation, and uncheck the Real Highway Regional Transport View box.  Then continue with the installation.  All previous options will be retained.

If you still have it in your "download folder" just click on it and simply re-install it. You shouldn't have to delete anything. If you have to download it again then do that also. It is quite simple or just do like Z1 says.

Leaving the original topic behind and only to be clear about this: If I start the NAM installer once more, does it recognize my last selections? (Or if only under certain conditions, then which would that be?) Will it delete deselected options during a later installation?

If you re-install NAM you will need to remember all of the other choices that you made when you originally installed it. I had to do the same thing when I needed to get rid of some things. The installer itself does not know what your previous choices were, nor what you used or did not use in the game, so make sure that whatever you are actually using or want to use, that you keep that selected in the installer.

This is completely wrong.  As of NAM 31, if you rerun the installer in the Custom Installation mode, it keeps all your choices from the last installation.  You can then modify what you want; everything else will stay the same.  If you rerun the installer with the Complete Standard Installation, it will do exactly that, except that if you've added other options through the Custom Installation, they will not be removed.  Standard options that were removed in a Custom installation will be replaced if you choose Complete Standard Installation, though.

Well, something didn't take when I re-installed it because I had to re-check everything that I wanted when I added it in.

Well, I have changed my NAM 31.1 installation twice so far, and the installer (on custom) had my previous selections correctly checked both times. As it should be.

Did you uninstall it first?

Must the installer be unpacked and in its own directory for this to work?

I ran it out of the zip-file ...

Works fine for me.  I add and subtract stuff as I please.  It is a very good installer.

BTW, I keep all my downloads in a <me>/Downloads/SC4Releated downloads folder.  It is always there, and I never re-download anything unless there is an update, and even then I keep previous versions.  At the moment, the installer for the NAM 31.1 is unpacked and sitting there ready to use.

I have the same issue,  but I've uninstalled, re-installed WITHOUT the region transportation view and it won't go away no matter what I do.

Isn't that controlled by TSCT?

Are you talking about the NAM-specific region transportation view or the standard game region transportation view? The base game already has one, it just doesn't show the RHW. You can switch to satellite view in the region menu.
