Having never left the US, I've only made purchases with US dollars. I've seen other currencies, such as that my dad carries euros around because he goes on business in Europe (Munich, Nice, etc.) a lot.

I had a customer give me a "nickel" the other day, but I noticed it wasn't US currency. It was actually a 1 cent piece from... based on the writing I can say it's Asian, but I haven't looked it up yet. Anyway the person went "Oh, I'm sorry is that a foreign coin? Just throw that away." That sounded kinda silly so I kept it and was playing with it all day long.

1145: In my travel experience, I have had to use Euro, Vati, the Pacific Franc, Swiss Franc and New Zealand dollars.

In Australia, some New Zealand currency circulates as if it were Australian. The 10c and 20c are identical in size.

 To me, banknotes are works of art, and should accurately reflect the culture of the issuing country. Taking a look at the US, all it has is presidents (oh and Franklin ) What does that say about a country? It values people. Where is the homage to the Indian culture, the amazing fauna and flora, as well as the man-made achievements?

 

As Duke mentioned, Native American culture has been represented, even if only at a minimum. One need only look to the quarters in production since 1999 for other references. Each state has a unique design and there are other designs for territories and national parks. Ohio's praises aviation while Wisconsin's quarter pays homage to farming. Plenty of other state quarters as well as the national park quarters have representations of nature on them.There are all kinds of goodies out there if you look for them. I picked up a Hawaiian volcano quarter the other day I've never seen before. It was issued last year.

Canadian coins often get mixed with American coins as they are all the same size and color... and approximately the same value, so most people don't really mind.

What got me is that starting with 3rd gen it was no longer possible to "catch 'em all" in one game. The second gen games contained all 151 1st gen pokemon plus 100 additional ones for a total of 251. The 3rd gen games did not continue this trend, they kept only some of the 1st and 2nd gen pokemon, added some new ones, and redid the numbering (!), for a total of less than 251 available pokemon.
