I've been to Toronto a couple times, but Montreal is on my list.  We'll be moving not to Japan but to Upper Michigan (YAY dreams do come true!) next month, so it's still feasible.  Of course, I still have to put up with all the election bovine doodoo, but whatever.

I've been to Toronto once and... well, there's a reason movie studios often use it as a stand-in for New York. Being there feels a bit like being in an off-brand knockoff of New York.

Montreal has a much more distinct feel to it. Can't easily compare it to any other city.

Funny I always thought the Devil would make Grilled Buffalo Wings, you know extra spicy

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

Apparently buffalo meat actually is still a thing you can get today, albeit raised on farms rather than hunted from wild herds. And the species is not technically considered endangered.

Sorry guys , I hope that I didn't offend anybody . And if I did , I apologize . I do know how dress codes work . I use to have to wear a uniform for a couple of my previous jobs . I didn't like it , but it was part of the job . Well at least the weather is changing :D

Ties were supposed to be part of our regular wear when I was teaching in Japan, but I never wore one (even to ceremony-type stuff when we were really supposed to!) and no one ever said anything to me about it.  Lucky part of being a foreigner I guess.  I keep telling my wife that if she and the kids get me one for Father's Day I'm going to hang myself with it.  Ties are the absolute worst thing I've ever had to wear, although I have not tried on high heels, a thong, or a suit of plate armor.  My wife hated wearing her kimono when she was a kid for special events.

Ties aren't so bad when sitting at a desk although they become unwieldy whenever leaning over or climbing around anywhere.

They also serve no functional purpose, which is more why I won't wear one unless absolutely necessary. I gain nothing of substance by expending the effort.

Nah ties I exclude unless being super formal, A sportscoat is usually suffice for most events, I can't stand people who wear bowties though, Should only be reserved for magicians and AARP members.

Larks!  Haven't seen you in a while.  Or you've been around and I haven't noticed?  I don't know.  I'm busy these days.  Thank the gods that my next job allows me to wear whatever I want, so jeans and superhero t-shirt it will be.

It is cool to wear whatever you want at work , then you can be who you want to be and not what someone else wants you to be . @NMUSpidey That superhero T-Shirt wouldn't happen to be Spider-Man  , would it ? :uhm:

Well one of my chemistry teachers once wore a tie with the Periodic table on it.

One of the self-acclaimed triumphs of the Islamic Revolution of Iran is the religious prohibition of those accursed symbols of the Great Satan's imperialist cultural oppression, the decadent Western necktie and the evil bowtie.  So when we proudly wear our ties with garishly paisley patterns in Windsor knots, we are not just embracing Western liberal cultural values, we are sticking our heretical middle fingers into the angry eyes of Ayatollah Khomeini.

So anybody traveling to Iran might want to leave their ties at home . Or face the consequences
