First of all, i really like to thank ProcsKalone for making this Mod, it really helps the player with the city size limitation issue, and turns the game more pleasent.
I've installed the Mod and it works almost perfectly, but i'm having 2 problems that really reduce its potential. I have the 2x module problem which i'll try to solve by installing skies multi plopper.
The other major problem i'm having is not being able to plop modules in the buildings outside the citybox. I really need help with this one,Any ideas?

@ Carduh

In normal circumstances you should place it with no problem. Keep in mind you won´t have any snap point, and you should choose the module more far to the right (without the number count). So, the modules are snap-free meaning you can build them almost anyplace (in my case I like to keep it real so I try to place it next to the main building and/or any road).

Since Im writing here I want to say it seems University outside city has the module count issue. Every other work great...

Sorry if I missed this somewhere else in the thread, but I wanted to know if this mod works on Mac?  Is there anything special I need to know to make it work?   Thanks

it should work on Mac, just install the same way as you install for other mods.

So I've put everything in SimCityData and SimCityUserData and turned on the debug UI, but I'm getting this weird glitch in the bottom right-hand side - a region button hiding behind the bulldozer.   Any ideas what I should do? I haven't actually tried using the mod yet, but figured I need to sort this out.  On a Mac btw.

You need to turn up screen resolution in simcity options. 1280x768 or 1280x800 should fix it

Thanks, but no luck. I was already running at 1280x800 (though not on full screen) so I tried at 1440x900 at both full screen and not - same problem.

Phew!  I reinstalled SimCity and all the mods and BOC seems to be working fine now. Yay...onwards and upwards!

I actually still love the BOC. I use it to plop other stuff like power, garbage, etc in the 2 areas you can't use the 3k border plop thingy

    I've uploaded version P here.

There is no real need for the pack anymore

BoC is still unmatched in that it allows:

    - Plopping anywhere (no need for snap points)
    - Chain-plopping & Over-plopping of the "outside modules"

It also includes the best version of Felgard's 'Street for Buses' mod, based on the narrow service road instead of the wide amusement park road.

I can never get the bulldozing of regional network to work :ooh:

Try placing this script file in SimCityUserData/Packages, you might have to load up your city and then restart the game for it to apply.

Ooh... so I'm just setting up all these mods and a bit behind the 8-ball. So, do you mean that BoC lets you put things on the 2 sides where Project Orion doesn't work? That would be great!  (sorry... just wanted to make sure I understood).

    Yes, anywhere.

Albeit unlike Orion the BoC buildings don't snap to roads, instead they always face north.

    @ProcsKalone:

I'm not so sure when you say that the BOC mod is no longer needed.

It's true that players can build outside the box and even zone with Orion, but...Orion is actually a lot more limited than the BOC mod when it comes to available space. Even within the 3k x 3k space that Orion offers, there are huge stretches of land where you cannot build nor plop anything, while you CAN plop everything of the BOC mod in those dead spaces.

When you plop something in a dead space, no "Snap point" appears, no items of Orion can be used, not one ploppable RCI building can be used, and you need the BOC's road tool to be able to draw roads outside the 2k x 2k original city box in Orion.

I'm convinced that if all ploppable RCI is to be implemented into your BOC mod, players will be able to build everywhere in the region, also in the so called "dead spaces".

I understand that implementing all RCI into the BOC will be a tremendous amount of work, so therefore I would like to propose if it can be tried to ask as many modders as may be, if each of them are willing to implement a few RCI buildings into the BOC mod, until all RCI has been implemented.

I've asked Xoxide whether or not there were plans to convert all RCI of the Cities of Tomorrow to ploppables, of which he said that there are over 500 different RCI CoT buildings that are actually an extension of the default RCI.

So that proposes a challenge, but if all those buildings are converted into ploppables, and implemented into your BOC, SimCity will be loved by everyone, even the haters.

Because of this, I really want to beg you to reconsider. :)

Orion is wonderful, but it is not everything. Your BOC mod is. The entire region can be build full using your mod. You cannot build the entire region full using Orion.

I think that the next focus of the modders should be to implement all RCI into the BOC.

Everyone could see how delighted the community would be if they did. :)

@all I'm not sure why proc took down his mod.  I feel his mod is still useful and handy for various reasons.

PLOP POINTS are controlled by the LOT engine.  Orion takes advantage of that specific fact.  Plop Points can't be added anywhere they must exist from the origin anchor.

If we make a map = on all sides RCI Zone fails in the original city area (The 2k Region)

Roads built with BoC or Regional Do the exact same thing for the 2 facing sides opposite the anchor point for this fact.  its not an implementation of BoC or the Regional Roads or even Regional UDoN's.

The Lot Engine is tricked into allowing it to work

original values for region are -1024 -1024 -2048 / 1024 1024 2048 - Orion values are -1024 -1024 -2048 / 3072 3072 2048 To make this work we need more control over the LOT engine and its mechanics to allow further plop point controls specifically.  You can't fake plop points.

I had this discussion with the developers on this subject.  And due to the hard coding of the values for the RCI Zone engine this was the compromise for larger cities.

BoC does allow you to plop non RCI buildings NORTH FACING anywhere and if proc wanted to he could implement North Facing BoC RCI Plops

however that's 515 additional changes that have to be maintained every upgrade for proc if he wished to do so.  The decision is his.  And once we get RCI Future Plops working that's an additional over 520 buildings making over 1000+ buildings and parks RCI Plop possible.

This is a kind of unrealistic amount of changes to keep having to update in some ways.  But its his decision and this is just the facts of the information and what we have currently and what is coming.

We are trying a number of ideas but it will take time to improve upon what is already out there and many people do not think we will get much better than we have.

I feel we will have been visuals sooner than later, Bridges <shrug> not sure.

Proc and BoC will always be useful for many more reasons other than plop points and RCI Plopping.  But the decision is his.

Its 0 changes needed to keep rci ploppable without points each patch since it does not use any scriptside values, it will take one round of renaming the props to have them not conflict with the original rci plop mod, but I had already done that long time ago. Nor does it take much effort to make it BOC compatible, but that is something Niclistin will have to allow, but he is currently busy with the Menu splitting that I have explained to him.

I feel we will have been visuals sooner than later, Bridges <shrug> not sure.

    Figured out already

@Keiko, as it stands, BOC does need updates on a per patch basis and with the extended boundaries mod out - I figured that it was not as necessary and would save me time having to update it. I may change the way BOC works with the scripts so its patchfree but that may only come later. For now DamienMB has uploaded it again uptop and i'll edit the link into the mainpost sometime but I did not want people expecting fresh updates any patch just yet.

    RABIN?!?!?! :)

0 and 1 on surface do not change the bridge due to lot editor hard codes

I'm thinking trgs approach of z change and road types may be an answer but not sure

Btw on my 1000 and 515 comment I mean to make menu's and keep them BoC style not plop point style .. I know that I twill be more maintence free from that stand point but for the other 1/2 the city .. BoC methodology would be the only way to plop buildings if they were north facing.

I still think your tool is the best option for majority of the various aspects even with the odd behaviors with some plops not allowing right counts.

Btw when did you take out BD tool from regionals on your BoC mod.. last time I had used it months ago it was part of it.

Some people were asking for the Prop we had but I can't find it.. I know yuttho was talking to guillaume on the subject of the prop to erase some rail and regionals to redraw to do his next videos

    @ProcsKalone:

I had a hunch that the BOC would need an update with every patch, but when Xoxide said that ploppable RCI would need an update each time too, I thought that that couldn't be right, because I had the BOC mod before update 10, and it didn't looked like that you had given all ploppables in the BOC an update.

I could use the BOC just fine right after I downloaded update 10.

Eitherway, I'm glad that you changed your mind. As you can see, there are still a lot of people wanting specifically the BOC mod, as it can reach places where Orion cannot.

Now the only thing left to do is hope that NiclistinRedd allows RCI ploppable into the BOC, and that you are willing to implement them into the BOC.

Then, SimCity will finally be there where everyone wants it to be. :)

i'm not yet sure btw on the above.. since those are not part of the game it may not as a separate package.. so I take back what I was said.  to many things at once in my head

Only items in game usually need updates every time the game gets updated in the BoC from my conversations with proc / rabin.

    the other things not sure

I am curious if proc could add the static bridge and some sort of offset for placement and road snapping to help with over passes of static udons external to the city.. but that's his decision ..
