Ideas for the Official Simtropolis Annunarians Club Members List Guidelines

Yes, I've heard it so many times. A good handful of members have been asking for the Annunarians Club Members List to be updated. The problem is that if we were to update it right now, there will be over tens of thousands of members on the list, many of them with the sole intention of downloading popular items off the STEX.

The updated list could have contained some members that we would rather want to forget (like Heyden and for some, the Village Idiot Randall_Lind).

My idea is to introduce some criteria that will keep the list short, while listing as many useful members as possible. I understand that this may disappoint some members, but it is necessary to tidy up the list and then maintain it properly thereafter.

I welcome any suggestions.

Proposed Criteria for Inclusion in the Official Simtropolis Annunarians Club Members List

In order to have a member name listed in the Official Simtropolis Annunarians Club Members List, it must be registered at Simtropolis.com for more than one calendar year, not banned for life and satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

- A custom member label (e.g. Ill Tonkso)

- At least one Trixie award (like Glenni)

- At least one MOTM/EOTM award (like Jacky)

- Two STEX uploads rated 7.5 or more to its name (like SimGoober)

- At least one Simtropolis Omnibus article to its name

- A Simtropolis staff member (like SkiGeek)

For example, a member who has hasn't posted for two years but won a 'We miss you, please come back' Trixie award would still get a place in the list. A member with no CML, no awards but with three STEX uploads rated 7.5 or above to date would still qualify (like me). But a member that is banned for life despite having a CML (like KT3) will not qualify. A member that satisfies all of the above would certainly be on the list (like Dirk).

Yes, I've heard rumours that thousands of posts makes you popular, but I won't take bribes. Excessive posting is absolutely not a shortcut to having your name listed! quote>

Remember, if you have suggestions for my criteria ideas, or if you would like to comment on it, feel free to post in this thread.

See you later,

~~ Tina, 12/2/2007 or 25/1/1428

You're welcome to do so, but it isn't gonig to be a requirement. I respect members who do not post as much as Jacky does. To get the new list on the first page could mean having to restart this thread from scratch. Is it okay?

I could potentially edit the first post to contain the new list, but I haven't the time to compile it.

I'd say that the new standards are quite strict, but what does it matter anyway?  In the end, it's only a list, and the only purpose I could see one wanting to get on it is vanity - or personal achievement, if you want to be less cynical about it.

The only thing I can think of at the moment for criteria is that one must be a "regular member" who posts meaningful posts (i.e. isn't a spammer).  However, that could lead to loads of debate on what a "regular member" is - is it defined by postcount, being prolific, participation in ST politics, being a mod, op, MOTM, EOTM..., participation in chat...? - and it could be argued that the eight criteria that Constantina provided should weed out anyone who is not a regular member.

So I guess in that aspect the eight criteris there are a good solid start and I think we could use one more:

"Has a CJ with at least 500 comments".   500 could be replaced with any other arbitrary number there - 300, 600, even 2,000 if we wish to set the bar.  Of course, like any idea, we could be critical with that one:  quantity, we could argue, isn't the best metric.

But in the end, I think the list needs to be a bit more well rounded and CJs seem to be missing.  So unless anyone can gove a better idea pertaining to CJs...

edit:  just realized that the post to which I am replying was made in February.  Well, whatever...

Is quadruarian a word?

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

For me, it has been 2 years, 10 months, and 7 days. (or 6, depending on where you are) That means I have less than two months before I become a Triannuarian.

Fresh Proposals for the Official Simtropolis Annunarians Club as a whole:

Well, perhaps Simtropolis should have a separate board just for Annunarians if everyone is happy for that to happen. In the board, there would be a sticky thread for members to announce their milestone, and another for the guidelines below. Another one could be for something similar to my Q&A thread in 'Off Topic'

Why? It's time to realise that this club is more than just about members that were registered for more than a year. Clubs are for making friends and having fun.

There has been small but sizeable discussion on what to call Simtropolians that are over four years old. Some suggest Quad-Annunarians while some say Tetra-Annunarians. They're perfectly fine, but there's a simpler way.

Proposed Simtropolis Annunarians Club Guidelines

General

The Simtropolis Annunarians Club is for members registered for more than a year to have fun and make new friends. This club is not intended solely just for the discussion about the Annunarians, so any topic is welcome provided that you keep it clean and tidy. Just start a new thread/post about anything, and if there's interest/demand, let the discussion begin.

The Simtropolis Annunarians Club is open to members registered for at least one year or more, except those permanently banned from the forums. Membership is voluntary and free of charge.

Listing

The Simtropolis Annunarians Club list is a roll of honour of year-old or more members that have either made a good contribution to the site, or regular members that are very well known.

Members may qualify to be included in the list, provided that satisfy at least one of the following categories:

  • They are a staff member
  • The have a custom member label
  • They won one or more Trixie award
  • They won one or more MOTM/EOTM award
  • They have two or more STEX uploads rated 7.5 or more
  • They contributed one or more Omnibus articles
  • They post on average 6 messages per day
  • And that they are a member of the following teams:
    • The Yearbook Committee
    • New Horizons Productions
    • NDEX
    • BSC
    • BLaM
    • The Simlympics
    • Simtropolis Help Squad
    • Simtropolis Podcast Team
    • MOTM/EOTM Committee
    • Trixies Committee

For example, a member who has hasn't posted for two years but won a 'We miss you, please come back' Trixie award would still get a place in the list. A member with no CML, no awards but with three STEX uploads rated about 8.75 would also qualify.

The list will be reviewed every month. If you think you have qualified for inclusion in the list, send a PM with a piece of evidence or two (Not older than a month) to Charlotte Ryberg (Constantina) or a moderator. You should be included in the next month if the evidence has been proven correct. Forgeries are frowned upon.

Annunarianship Categories

There are five official categories of Annunarianship:

  • Annunarians - One year and above
  • Bi-Annunarians - Two years and above
  • Silver Members - Three years and above
  • Gold members - Four years and above
  • Platinum Members - Five years and so on

Other terms are unofficial for now, but allowed. quote>

Can I suggest that Tri-annuarianship not be based on member status (i.e. mod, MOTM, Team member...). If someone has been in the community for three years, even if they haven't given materially to the community, they should be allowed in.

Anyone can be a Tri-annuarian as long they are not banned from the forums for life. But the list needs to filter STEX-only members... However, letting everyone younger than a year old in should be put inquote>
