The back-lighting makes the identification difficult, but it doesn't have the conformation of a wasp, but might be a hornet.  Perhaps a little fill-in flash the next time.

Bwahaha. To those reading my city journal. Guess where I was yesterday. I am indeed a big fan..

 

 

Here are some shots of Ortigas, one of Metro Manila's CBD. That is actually one-third or one-fourth of the whole thing. I can't seem to find a good place to shoot the whole skyline.

 

 

And here is an image of the first H and M store in the Philippines opening this Fall... @_A

jmsepe : the only time you can take the shot of the whole manila skyline is if you're seated at the right window seat of the plane but only if you're landing at runway 24 (landing southwest) into NAIA. Another option is access to Manila ATC at T2, but thats hard to get.

Splendid, the second image reminds me of Russia while the third one reminds me of Amsterdam. It definitely is so European.

Here's the recently completed I-4/Selmons Crosstown Connector project in Tampa, FL.  Some landscaping is still being done, but the ramps are all open to the public.  These LED lamps are part of the finishing touches.

You were right, it's Russia. Volga - the central region. The Republic of Mari El, 250k inhabbitans city Yoshkar Ola (local language means "red town"). It's all built in 6 years from scratch on village location:

Interesting. 

 

I felt that the first one is too busy.  Maybe you should have moved in closer, or cropped it a little.

 

The second one is sort of desolate.  Was that your intent?

 

Good assortment of tones and half-tones in the boats pulled up to this sea wall.  I note some of the ones on the right are likely to be sailing cat-boats from the hull forms.  The rest appear to be row-boats and the like.

 

The portraiture speaks for itself.  I've always preferred B&W for portraits and informal shot of people.

 

Overall, well done.  Is this film or did you have to remove the colour with an editor?  If film, what was it?

They are all digitally edited, I can't remember the last time I used film.

 

I agree the first one is a little busy, I was thinking I should have played around with the depth of field and blurred the background a bit more.

 

Desolation was absolutely what I was looking for, something to maybe make the viewer feel a little uneasy.

 

I'm not really a boat person, so I wouldn't know what they are, I just liked the feel of it.

 

And I absolutely agree with you on B&W for portraits. The difference between the original colour, and the edited one above is quite dramatic.

Closest ive been is Chicago. Alas at the time i was rather young and too poor and uneducated to takegood pictures and also this was before i had digital cameras. Indeed looking at my collection it seems the oldest pictures i have are of the Blue Mountains circa 2005
