Back tonight from the East Coast (Newfoundland and Nova Scotia). Flight diverted to Ottawa due to thunderstorms at Toronto Pearson International. Held there for 1.5 hours, then delayed for flight from T.O. to London, ON for nearly two hours. Foo.

Sounds fun. How was your trip?

Interesting. Four days in western Newfoundland (Deer Lake, Gros Morne), three days in St. John's, a week in Dartmouth (Halifax). Will slowly trickle out pix when I get them organized.

Well its been a while or maybe way too long, but now Im back after endless amount of work (being a writer now) and dealing with real life matters. Glad to see some of you guys still around and i'll try my best to take more frequent visits, even though i haven't played SC4 for years. :)

Back for reals this time. The computer is up and running, SimCity 4 has some odd textures on Maxis buildings but that's for another day.

I think a vacation encourages BATting. While I have little interest to slap together the Sunsphere (although it would be cool), reading all the canned BSP projects (Sleeping Bear Dunes?! I went there in 2010) helps inspire me.

~ COMING SOON! Exciting new projects! ~

they only kept me there till 3 AM.but while i was there they did a cat scan, several x-rays, blood work, pain killers, muscle relaxant ect.

cat scan showed a small amount abdominal fat in the hernia, not intestine. so after 6 hours on my back and the relaxants it went back to normal.

Missed a bullet, or in this case a suture line. Lucky.

I don’t imagine too many of you will remember me as I was never a very prominent member – I mostly frequented the off-topic and CJ sections up until about two years ago (of course uni and real life intervened at that point). So glad to see that the community is still going strong!

Don’t want to make any promises, but I hope to attempt some BATing in the near future now that I've gained a bit of practice. I always love seeing other people’s creativity in action, so don’t be surprised if I pop into a CJ near you.

Returning soon[ish] from a long time away...

CJ's. Haven't read one of those for a minute!

I guess I'm kinda back. RL has kept me away for a while. I work a lot. Especially in the summer months. But anyway, perhaps I will maintain a 1 or 2 post(s)/day rate for the forseeable future. It is certainly good to converse with the ST community again. I missed you guys!

So I'm back after about 6 years I think. Boomtown and SimCity 2013 have brought be back, interested in both from different points of view.

Good to see you again. Do you still play SC4? If you haven't played in six years, there is a lot of new stuff. Take a look at the current NAM and its friends.

I have returned from my trip. I had a good time, aside from having to listen to my dad complain for an hour while we were stuck in traffic on the 401

Autoroute 20 heading away from the airport was worse than the 401, other than that there were no big traffic jams in Montreal.

The big difference between the roads in Quebec and the roads in Ontario is the condition. Quebec's roads and bridges are in terrible condition. Concrete is just falling down from everything.

Too much sand in the concrete. When you are in a controlled bid situation, you try to get away with anything to make a buck. Think of it as Mafia concrete. The Romans did a better job 2100 years ago.

Two years ago my computer crashed, taking several gigabytes worth of plugins and years of work on lovingly crafted cities with it. I decided to throw in the towel.

Well, two weeks ago I accidentally clicked on a link to some of the music from SC4. 'By the Bay' has been stuck in my head ever since, and I'm getting that old familiar itch once again. I guess I'm going to give it another shot, but I'm backing up my Plugins folder this time.

So what have I missed since late 2009?

You should get the digital download version from one of the authorized vendors for openers. It is fully patched and diskless. After that, you will want the new version of NAM (V30 + the hotfix).

We'll all be glad to give you a hand. Post your needs in https://community.simtropolis.com/forum/3-simcity-4-general-discussion/ when you know what you are going to do. Backups are automatic on this machine, every Thursday is what I have set. Takes about 10 minutes after the first one.

I am back for my first visit in a year. I can't believe I have been a member for 9 years already. Phew time goes fast. I am excited to see what the new Simcity will be like.

“The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.”

Nice to see a 2003 face around again!

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Good to see you again. Do you still play SC4? If you haven't played in six years, there is a lot of new stuff. Take a look at the current NAM and its friends.

Here and there. The game crashes a lot on my laptop so it can be a pain.

Recently I received a PM from a concerned member inquiring about my well being after Sandy. Pittsburgh didn't take much of a hit. I'm all good.

Anyway, the reason for today's post is as follows; I was all about being back when I was last here but some things have changed. Right after I posted that I moved to a new apartment(after 2 1/2years of living with my parents!) Before I got internet hooked up I lost my job. It seems silly to take on additional bills when one does not have a job. For the same reason I have yet to buy a TV (which I live without fairly easily). Anyway, then my grandmother (who lives outside L.A.) fell and broke her hip. This happened last week. She is 90 years old and still in the hospital but recovering well. Being that I am the only member of the extended family out of work, I am headed out there for an indefinite amount of time to help take care of her. I'll bring my laptop of course and try to stay in touch more often. Either way, I'm still alive and kicking!

Warm regards,

Muck

Edit: Lol. Such a scatterbrain! Nonny's post wasn't directed in my direction and meanwhile, I ignored Bruce! Good to be back, good sir. Even if it appears to be much more sporadically than I intended. Maylay says Hi. Probably. To be honest I can't understand a meow she says.
