It looks sort of like SC2013 graphics to me, or something imitating them, at least.

As for the changing, I've noticed it expand to different pages over the span of a few days...

Thanks for the fireworks in the banner for New Year's Eve, I thought it looked very cool. I appreciate these subtle details that show up every now and again.

Actually, the banner is getting more and more sophisticated. How much of a problem would it be to use the IP to set the banner to summer for users in the southern hemisphere?

I couldn't agree more, it really adds a nice seasonal touch to the site. Whoever makes them clearly has a good eye for design – with the colours complementing the overall 'blue' theme.

New banner for SC2013 is interesting - I really like the power plants off to the right. I do miss the subtleties of the old banner a little bit, but then again I am quite resistant to change (still haven't used any CC or mods in my SC4RH play...).

 

Looks like the Simtropolis 2013 gets a bit lost, it probably needs a drop-shadow or a color change (ST blue, maybe?).

 

I'll be interested to see how the banner is changed for events/holidays etc.

 

Edit: wow, 17 minutes later and the title already has a drop-shadow - very fast work, and looks much better.

Good work on the new banner. It's very eye catching, and captures the theme of "transition" quite well -- with the development of futuristic buildings. Of course we know the new game represents a new beginning for SimCity.

I also like how the meteor draws attention to the Simtropolis logo.

Calm down, guys.. I remember when CitiesXL was released, the site also swo many fast changes to adapt the new game, lots of people were super-excited for its released, the beta key day was like crazy... As soon as people realized the game was not the "new" SimCity they were expecting, everything cooled down. Have you visited CXL CJ section lately? Deserted. I predict a similar sequence of events for SC2013, after having observed how everything has worked since the very first rumours to its release and server problems.

So, just follow the flow, time will put every game on its place, and SC4 has still many years to be on the top of the hill.

Agreed! The banner is just "celebrating" what is actually a pretty meaningful event in this community's history -- the release of an official successor to SimCity 4.
