Interesting this idea about transparent basetextures, I also would like to do something like that but haven't come around to look any deeper into it yet. So sorry I can't really be of any help here.

This underwater world that you are creating is quite unique and looks beautiful.

Steve,

Amazing update! That flora along with that sort of tropical watermod you have going there is something really realistic.

Keep it up

Phew, finally! 25.gif There were so many great CJs hovering at 9 pages that I wanted to include in the Reader's Guide. This is one of those CJs where the pictures seem to take forever to load, just increasing the anticipation of the reader. But patience is rewarded with some fascinating pics! Great job! 44.gif

Wow! I am honoured! 6.gif Thankyou so much for the great dedication to a brilliant update in this brilliant CJ! 29.gif And WOW! A huge congradulations to 10 pages! Thats one hell of an achievement and they are some of the greatest 10 pages I've ever seen! I liked you BAT very much in the last update and was very impressed by your use of underwater flora and rocks around the harbour, it looks incredibly reslistic and basically stunning.

I look forward to more updates of this great CJ, and even 10 more pages!! 2.gif

Thanks for the link BTW and thanks again s much for the dedication! 4.gif

Hey Steve.

Congrats to page 10 buddy. Your underwater world still looks fascinating. It lends your region a little 'south seas feeling'.

See Ya.

Despite not having commented much, I've been following the development of the seaport area, and I am incredibly impressed. From the great terraforming to the little details like the canal docks and the lumber yard that others might overlook, it's such a work of art. SOMY's buildings look really nice there as well as the oil tanks.

Hello to all of my friends44.gif
Sorry for no update lately15.gif Believe me I am working hard on the next update. I have been doing quite a bit of research and customizing. Take a look at the   Lot Editor and Plugin Manager Page as well as The Pegasus site to see I have certainly NOT been idle (Find sorchins posts). I have also been very busy with work since Saturday14.gif I want to ensure my friends that I am going through some testing of LOTS and am nearly done29.gif Just about every LOT in the next update will be custom made19.gif. I will reply to comments as soon as I can my good friends. I know some have been asking about certain Rock Lots I used in the last update. Please understand that all of those lots were custom made so I can't post a link for you, however I can give you some links to find the props I used so you can customize yourself. Those lots are actually quite simple to make29.gif Here they are: Dry Stone Walls , Nexis Big Rock Props , and Goldivas Tree and Sea Flora .
19.gif Hopefully later today I'll have an update for you. Thanks my friends for your patience.
    Have a great day44.gif

Great Banner, looks cool! I've been playing around with those too and I find the animated (photoshop I'm guessing) banners are lots of fun!

I look forward to you next update with great eargerness, and thanks for the rock links. 48.gif

your island with Kobe Tower and the lighthouse is a breathtaking piece of work, sorchin, as is the rest of your journal. it is amazing to watch the amount of detail you put into each square foot and watch as the areas change with time. great work.

Phil: Hey my friend. I figured out most of the texture problem29.gif Thanks for the compliments buddy44.gif
jacqulina: Thanks my friend. I'm glad the link helped29.gif Have fun with it44.gif
Dan: Hey my friend. Thanks for your help my friend. I really appreciate it pal44.gif
Micah: Hey my friend44.gif Hmm.. Well let me think... I first started by raising the water level to just above sea level until I was able to build a road on it. Then with a gentle amount of tweaking I manipulated the land (or water) to get the result I wanted. To get the best result level out the newly created beach area and then have fun placing your seaport44.gif I know there are(is) a tutorial out there somewhere that explains this. I'm sorry but can't remember where though43.gif. Do a search in the General Discussion Forum. Or try posting your question I did a chech on my computer to see if I had it in a Word Document, to no avail.43.gif
Simen: Thanks buddy44.gif check Update 24 Rough Draft on page 1044.gif That should explain it48.gifedit. Ok good. You found it44.gif
Kwakelaar: Underwater transparent textures apparently are virtually impossible to do (especially with props). See this link  to see what I mean. I think I got something pretty close though. I also used your wonderful Schiffenberg Monestary for this update44.gif I hope you don't mind9.gif Thanks for your comments buddy44.gif
sim1234: Thank you my good friend.19.gif
Chris: Thanks buddy and welcome to my CJ mate. I hope to see you again9.gif
mayormommy: Thank you my friend for the compliment44.gif Glad to see you here. Come back anytime my friend:
    ChicAgo333: Hey buddy9.gif Thanks my friend44.gif
chocolatemax285: I am humbled my good friend43.gif No problem for the link. I am glad to do it44.gif It would be nice if I could get 10 more. Lets hope19.gifedit Yes I use Photoshop CS. It took awhile but I have a pretty good handle on the basics now44.gif
Phil C: Thanks my good friend. I appreciate it as always mate44.gif
oroen: Thanks for such great comments my good friend44.gif Yes I love detail which is part of the reason why it takes me so long to update sometimes23.gif. See you again soon mate44.gif
John: LOL. er oopps... SHHH! Don't tell Dan I laughed at one of your joke's9.gif Seriously. Thanks mate29.gif
Mr. Cinatit: Good to see you again my good friend44.gif I am humbled mate43.gif Yes I love detail (hopefully not too much)9.gif
    I hope I didn't miss anyone. Sorry if I did43.gif

Update 24 Complete dedicated to Andreas Roth ; dhoppeii  ; swamper77  ; Pegasus  ; and tungston.

Well.. It's finally here my friends. I'm sorry it took so long.43.gif It was a combination of much trial and error (see update 24 rough draft on page 10), a serious problem at work (which has now been resolved), and a pretty severe case of food poisoning (Which I got Sunday evening14.gif). Needless to say I wasn't on my computer for the past couple of days (heck I could barely get out of bed8.gif). Anyways: I want to especially thank tungston, dhoppeii, Pegasus, Andreas Roth and swamper77 for helping me greatly with this update. Without their knowledge and insight this update wouldn't have been possible44.gif

I have also included a bid Mosaic comprising of 30 800x600 pics6.gif Click the thumbnail. Then click the picture once for a fairly big pic, click it a second time for a very big pic. Please note, the very big pic is a bit fuzzy. Imageshack only allows up to 1 MB per pic. I could use alternate sites I guess, but it should be good enough29.gif

Wow that underwater thingy looks good. However, i don't like what you do with the images in photoshop, like the last image adding the lensflare. The images looks good enough to go straight without photoshoping. I oppose the use of photoshop/psp editing since i don't think Cj's are ment to be a photoshop contest. Other then that, really great, this CJ is getting better and better for each update. Thanks for inspiration 1.gif You deserve a link in my signature 1.gif

Steve this was just INCREDIBLE! original and beautiful! what a superb setup! What's to say besides that! I'm really stunned.

Fantastic update YET AGAIN! I am absolutely amazed. The submerged buildings are am amaxing piece of imager that this CJ will be renowned for! It looks as if a resovoir is running low on stocks and is revealing a submerged settlement! really eerie!

Well do with this! just made a bad day vanish!

Must be tough to navigate the ships from the seaport around those ruins...17.gif

I love it SO MUCH. Can you give a tutorial on how you made those lots ploppable underwater? It would be perfect for Armalis...

    Thanks, and great job!

Hey buddy. You never cease to amaze me 6.gif. That sunken city looks fantastic.

When you said you'd build on water a couple of pages back, I thought, what the heck... and now, building underwater that's simply extraordinary my friend. It's quite innovative and a nice touch. Especially the ancient ruins and obelisks look beautiful there36.gif.

As a 'history enthusiast' though, I'm a little concerned that cargo ships might affect this ancient heritage. Well, maybe I'm being a little too concrend.

Take care Steve and have a great weekend.

The ruins turned out fantastic Steve and I certainly appreciate the dedication in this update.  Something to think about if you do future sunken ruins.  I am assuming that you modded most of these lots and made them custom items.  For the trees that are in the water near the ruins, you might want to try to use PEG's winter set of trees so that you really only see the branches and not the leaves.  That might be a cool effect.  Just an idea anyway.  Great work my friend and very original.

Shadow_Assassin: Hello an welcome to my CJ44.gif I appreciate your support my friend. Your welcome anytime29.gif
metasmurf: Hey buddy. Thanks for your kind words and candor. I'm honored you would put a link in your sig. Thanks so much mate44.gif Conccerning the photoshop. While I agree overdoing it is probably not a good thing. I do like to use it once in awhile just for fun and a little added flair that the game itself can't provide2.gif I don't think I overdue it though. (I hope not34.gif)
Simen: Thank you Simen for your continued support my friend.44.gif I'm glad you enjoyed.9.gif
John: LOL. Now even Dan can laugh at that mate17.gif Thanks buddy44.gif
wallasey: Thanks buddy. Actually to be honest I wasn't looking for realism here, but it's nice I got an (as you say) eerie look, ruins have always amazed me.29.gif I'm glad I brightened your day mate44.gif That makes me feel better19.gif
Kwakelaar: Thanks buddy for your continued support both here and in my BAT thread44.gif29.gif
    sim1234: Thanks again buddy. I appreciate it.44.gif
ginchael. LOL. Yes ship captains can't be drinking before they go through there9.gif When I get a chance if you like I will do a tutorial. In the meantime check out this link . Look under sorchin's threads. It might be all the help you need my good friend44.gif
Phil: Hey buddy44.gif Yes I agree with you. This was more or less an experiment to see if I could do it. Unfortunately the building optiions are limited15.gif Many just don't show up as props (regular buildings don't work properly in water) in the LE42.gif. Hopfully this CJ will inspire a BATTER to specifically design ruins to work underwater44.gif That would be cool48.gif Thanks for your compliments my friend19.gif
Phil C: Hey mate29.gifThanks buddy . I hope you're doing well? I guess I didn't think things through enough when I made this area. It's really more along the lines of fantasy than reality20.gifSee Phil just above2.gif Im sure i'll get back and change this area in the future. Perhaps when I get much better with the BAT I'll create a few underewater buildings myself44.gif Thanks buddy19.gif
Dan: Hey pal. It's funny you mentioned the winter trees because I originally started usingb those29.gif However I guess I was in a colorful mood when I made the final decision to put in the fall trees instead. I foind it's adds more flavor (if unrealistic) to the area9.gif

Thanks for all your great comments my friends. Check out my newly created BAT thread if you like9.gif

    Hello my friends.

I just want to let everyone know that it may be awhile before my next update. Life is very stressfull right now (don't need to get into the details)46.gif on a number of fronts. I just don't have time for SimCity4 at the moment. I'm sorry my friends but what can I do21.gif.
I will come back from time to time when I get a chance29.gif
I want to thank everyoine for their support. You all have (and I'm sure in the future) been great. I hope to see you soon
